Personological proof of God's existence against atheism
Čápová, Eva ; Bouma, David (advisor) ; Novotný, Vojtěch (referee) ; Svoboda, David (referee)
The mankind is looking for Creator since the beginning of its existence and is trying to know Him. "Is there a God?" so is an atheist, agnostic and sometimes even a faithful asking. Philosophers and theologists are trying to prove or deny His existence. The purpose of this proof is nothing more than to prove that a man has his Creator, to whom he is responsible and he has no chance to opt out of this responsibility. Personological proof that I submit aspires to apodictic proof of God's existence. The thesis are divided into three parts. The first part deals with the most familiar evidence of God's existence chronologically, starting with the ontological proof of St.. Augustine, St. Anselm, St. Thomas Aquinas and teleological proof. To conclude this section I offer the current state of research in this field, especially the view, which is profiled in the magazine Distance, a respected online magazine of critical thinking. In the second part I present my own proof of God's existence. For this I use purely intellectual apparatus without the acceptance of faith and I achieve the proof by means of syllogism. From two generally accepted premises I come to a new statement. I support scripture and dogma of the recognizability of God's existence by the natural light of human reason as analogy of harmony...
Luis de la Puente, Guía espiritual and the importance of the Jesuits in Prag to the diffusion of La Puente ́s work
Cuhrová, Nora ; Novotný, Vojtěch (referee) ; Svoboda, David (referee)
The thesis "Luis de la Puente, Guía espiritual and the importance of the Jesuits in Prag to the diffusion of La Puente's work" is dedicated to the person of Luis de la Puente (1554-1624), especially to his work Guía espiritual (Dux Spiritualis), and to the diffusion of La Puente's work by the activities of the Jesuits of Prague's Klementinum. This is a work of the history of spiritual theology. Luis de la Puente was a Spanish Jesuit, theolog, he has also been sought as confessor and spiritual leader. Toward the end of his life he wrote works dedicated to the spiritual life, their meaning was considerable. One of his works is "Guía espiritual" , as the author's preface says, handbook of spiritual life. The work Guía espiritual is significant also because it interferes La Puente in the debate that the first generation of Jesuits address: on one side there was a great emphasis on the contemplative life, and on the other hand there were requirements of the apostolic ministry. La Puente combines both these aspects, with particular focus on the uniting with God in love, not in the outward signs of life. The thesis maps also in brief the role of the Jesuits Klementinum in Prague spreading La Puente's work.
Art and music in the liturgy according to Joseph Ratzinger
Brábková, Luisa ; Novotný, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Brož, Prokop (referee)
The thesis represents the view of Joseph Ratzinger on the importance, function and place of music in the liturgy in accordance with the conclusions of 2nd Vatican Council - in relations of music and liturgy, with consideration of primary and secondary functions of sacred music. The primary function of liturgical music by J. Ratzinger consists in the support of the Word, secondary function means issue between the church and culture. Ratzinger also offers solutions of other problems - inculturation in liturgical music while maintaining a Christian identity and the development of Christian universalism, conditions provided by church for liturgical composers. The presented texts shoe Ratzinger's priorities for liturgical music, especially musical forms and style. These are the properties which can be viewed from many angles and can have a lot of different results.
De aeternitate mundi by St. Tomas Aquinas
Pluhař, Jiří ; Novotný, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Mohelník, Tomáš (referee)
This diploma thesis "De aeternitate mundi St. Thomas Akvinski" deals with one of the themes that are nowadays more or less omitted - the eternal world. It was one of the greatest intelectual arguments in the half of the 13th century. The result of those arguments was the clarification of the relations between theology and philosophy. The intense of these disputations led to the restriction of philosophical studies at university in Paris. Two groups of learners arose there. Not only were there philosophical disputes between these groups of scholars, but also political ones. We observe the life or a saint in this discomposed era. The saint, that looks for the truth honestly and for this fact he is criticized by both groups. It might be the reason why the publication De aeternitate mundi the brilliant and balanced work about our problem. A small diamond that glitters in the darkness of history.

Nosek, Lukáš ; Novotný, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (referee) ; Vogel, Jiří (referee)
Ecclesiology of Antonín Salajka (1901-1975) The following work presents an ecclesiological analysis of the publication by prof. Antonín Salajka (1901-1975). In the first part, it submits the biography of the author. This author was the first czech catholic priest laureated in Pontifical Institute of Oriental Studies in Rome (in 1930). In the second part, it closely inteprets the very ecclesiology of the author itself. Salajka - theologist is introduced from several perspectives as well. First we supplied a suggestion for periodization of his scientific work. There we proposed two periods in congruence with a paradigm change of ecclesiastic-social circumstances, including changes of theological studies, which evidently affected our author's life and scientific work. The two proposed periods are: (1) 1930-1950, i.e. scientifically paramount and fundamental; (2) 1950-1975. Further, we introduced areas which fell under Salajka's interest: unionism, eastern christian churches and the problem of christian unification, eastern dogmatic theology, Church Slavonic, the study of christian East, dogmatic theology, so called theologia comparata, but also ecumenism, theological realisation, method in theology, fundamental theology, moral theology, last but not least pedagogical activity. The main subject in his...
