Moggert, Monika ; Pospíšil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Theme of my work is arguable for the cities which are situated near the river. Riverbanks are really nice public space but a lot of them are not "designed for people". Before I started do this work I was thinking about places which are ignored or overlooked in Znojmo town. Yes, town has a lot of places which are interesting and need "new face". There are brownfiels but problems of these localities was designed many times. And I wanted to find some new way, try restore and improve public space in connecting by the river. I chose locality which connect two important buildings – Znojmo castle and Louka monastery. There is needed to improve connection this locality to town centre.
Berlin - the influence of the cultural differences of the inhabitants on the typical features of the contemporary urban space
Moggert, Monika
The aim of the research is to assess public urban space’s architectural and urban changes due to different cultural influences in one part of the urban district of Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg – “Berlin Kreuzberg” – a redevelopment area, which was defined around 1980 by the International Building Competition IBA 1984/87. Through it, photographic records of the individual buildings have been created, which are compared with the current state of the development. The area has a high representation of foreigners and residents with a migration background, and, with 63.5 %, a high share of non-European cultural influences. For comparison, a small part of the urban district of Lichtenberg – “Berlin Lichtenberg” – is selected. The results show the effects of cultural differences (architectural and urban) – changes in groups (Shape, Mass, and Space), as well as, for example, by comparing the number of services in both localities. Based on the data obtained, we can state no radical reconstructions in the “Berlin Kreuzberg” locality have been made. (Moggert, 2022a)
Vývoj městských center: Analýza rozdílných kulturních vlivů s dopadem na změnu urbánního prostředí na příkladu Berlína
Moggert, Monika
The current topic of this paper evaluates the changes in the public urban space, depending on the current demographic transformation of Europe. It focuses on the life of immigrant communities living in the districts of Berlin ‒ Neukölln and Kreuzberg ‒ and their impact on the urban environment. It shows the issue of an inhumane scale in contrast to small-scale sites. Furthermore, it provides an example of the likely development of these districts, evaluating their benefits and negative aspects. At the same time, it offers the opportunity to use foreign experiences for modern city planning.
