The submitted thesis aims to define the topic of the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as an integral part of the identity and spirituality of a diocesan priest. The essence of the priestly vocation lies in the continuation of the presence of Christ, the only High Priest, Head of the Church. Through the Sacrament of Orders, the ordained presbyter with the grace of the Holy Spirit likens Christ - the Priest, the Master and the Shepherd and thereby he participates in the mission of Christ as the Head without refraining from being a limb of the Mystical Body. Being an apostle, he continues to be a disciple. On the contrary, his apostolate has been growing from a permanent position of discipleship. Only in the position of a constant docile listening to the Lord, the priest can be a teacher; only as a sheep which commits itself to the Good Shepherd, he could be a shepherd to the flock entrusted to him; only when being lively aware of the fact that Christ loved him and brought himself as a sacrifice, he is able to offer the daily Sacrifice together with the Lord. The Mystical path of St. Teresa of Jesus: reflection in the Czech environment since 1900 to the present

Saint Teresa of Jesus, the Spanish mystic of 16th century and the Carmelite order reformer presents the doctrine of internal prayer and all its stages in her works based on own personal experience of life with the God. The intention of this work is to analyze Teresa's mystical path as a process of spiritual life with various stages of transformation. It will deal with what it means to be united with the God for the human life in Teresa's conception. It will also submit how Teresa's doctrine of mystical path has been reflected in the Czech environment since 1900 to the present, respectively by Czech authors and by foreign authors of whose works were translated into the Czech language. The work will be based on the concrete text of Interior Castle, in which Teresa represents the soul with number of dwelling places. The structure will be defined by single dwelling places, which are considered the ascetic and mystical stages of the prayer. The work itself, the Interior Castle, will be introduced together with the first to third ascetic dwelling places which had been the subject of previous bachelor's work. Moral Aspects of Fairy Tales

This Diploma Thesis "Moral Aspects of Fairy Tales" asks questions - Is it possible to find God's message in the fairy tales? Can God speak to us through these stories? Can the fairy tales be touched by history of redemption? In the beginning, this Diploma Thesis speaks about myth, about it's origin, functions and message, because the fairy tales have their roots in myth. For better apprehension of the fairy tales, there is used the theory of narrative as well as theory and history of fairy tales. The Diploma Thesis analyzes Jung's Archetypes. Archetypes help us to find messages for good life of human beeing in fairy tales. Another issue is "History of mankind as a chain of storries." This issue asks, why there is just few functions in the stories. It analyzes Jesus Christ as the first example of a main hero of fairy tales ant myths. The mankind should follow him in it's own storry. Universality of the storries is demonstrated in comparing of stories from Old Testament (Jonas, Jakob and Eliah) with motives in the fairy tales. Analysis of the Pontifical Missionary Societies' Activities in the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis "Analysis of the Pontifical Missionary Societies' (PMS) Activities in the Czech Republic" is to determine to what extent the activities of Czech PMS are truly missionary. First, basic terms are defined: mission, charity, humanitarian aid, and development assistance (Chapter 1). What they all have in common is caring for others; charity and mission have religious motivation and are carried out by the Church, whereas humanitarian aid and development assistance are matters of a secular state (though in everyday use the terms are often confused). Charity, i. e. selfless help to those in need, does not have a religious goal, it is not an instrument of evangelization unlike mission, whose aim it is to proclaim the Gospel (Chapter 2). Mission lies at the heart of the PMS on a worldwide scale and for this purpose they were established: Society for the Propagation of the Faith 1822, Society of the Holy Childhood 1843, Society of St. Peter the Apostle 1889, and Missionary Union 1916 (Chapter 3). Since their renewal in the CR in 1993 the Societies have developed a wide range of membership forms and activities, and collection yields have grown tenfold (Chapter 4). Quest for truth as a fundamental moral claim

Is it possible to describe questing for truth as a fundamental moral claim? If so, in what meaning than? The goal of the submitted work is to find the answer to these questions. As the starting point of reflections serves a characteristic of a man as a person in spirit of dialogical personalism. This correspond with personal project conception of moral truth. That is put in connection with the life story of Jesus of Nazareth as a true man. With the assistence of the terms "conscience" and "liberty" is the final conception of moral truth set in a wider purview of ethical reflections and consequently confrontated with teaching of encyclical "Veritas splendor".

Ethics, credibility and objectivity in the history of photography, especially journalistic This work deals with photography as with a socio-ethical pictorial medium, and covers the period from its invention to the mid-fifties of 20th century. I describe the history and development of ethical aspects of photography in the context of the process from image taking to its publication in the press, and its importance in the context of the time. The photos presented in the thesis are selected from those that have, due to their specific impact at the time they were taken, particular importance, and have extraordinary informative value related to ethical aspects in the historical development of photography. I mention photographers and photos that draw attention to the newly emerged ethical problems enable others to see pains, wickedness and injustice in the society, to rouse conscience of the society, and give impetus to correct these. In this respect, photography has played an important and irreplaceable role. There are also presented photographs documenting ethical failures of whole nations under the influence of monstrous ideologies of charismatic leaders, as a memento for future generations to help them to avoid similar events. ETIC IMPLICATIONS OF COMMANDMENT OF LOVE ACCORDING TO VERITATIS SPLENDOR AND DEUS CARITAS EST Comparation of interpretations of universal etic norm by John Paul II and Benedict XVI in quoted encyclicals The purpose of my thesis is to analyse and compare Veritatis splendor and Deus caritas est in order to defend the basic statement that the commandment of love is the only one norm of the christian etics and every other norm is based on it. A complex of questions comes out from the interpretation of the commandment of love and it can be divided into two branches 'why' and 'how'. There are three main reasons why to live under the commandment: love is aim of liberty, love fulfils the law, love has its origin in the truth. The love according to these three columns leads to salvation. The answer how to live under commandment of love is in the following of the example of Jesus Christ. The analytic and the synthetic part of my thesis are framed into seven themes: 1) Love, 2) Neighbour, 3) Commandment of love, 4) Law, 5) Liberty, 6) Truth, 7) Following. The view of the Christian asceticism and its significance for spiritual life by St. Teresa of Jesus

The purpose of the work is to introduce the conception of the Christian asceticism and its significance for spiritual life by St. Teresa of Jesus. The work is defined by three main writings of St. Teresa: The Book of Life, The Way of Perfection and The Internal Castle. The subject analysis is the Teresa's life, intellectual reflection and her specific advices. The following areas structure the scheme of the work: Teresa's ascetic formation, ascetic reform program and Teresean asceticism prayer. The differentiation of active and passive asceticism and its presence in her writings has been established as the theoretical base of the whole work. This methodology is used to analyse Teresa's expressions of spiritual life and her science. The ascetic formation is followed in her two living stages, firstly before entering the Monastery of the Incarnation and then at the Monastery of the Incarnation. The ascetic program of reform presents Teresean triada which includes love of neighbour, detachment and humility. The last part of the work deals with Teresean asceticism prayer, where the basic aspects of her prayer are introduced. Charismas, their recognition and their role in the life of the Church

The Diploma work explores and develops one of the many gifts of the Holy Spirit, that Catholic Church has like a treasure, and it is charisma. Many times in the Church or outside the Church a man can encounter with a negative attitude when the concept of charismas is mentioned, because many people do not know the true meaning and purpose of these gifts of the Holy Spirit. The purpose of the Diploma work is to raise in a simplicity the main issues of the topic and to offer answers to certain questions connected with the exposing of authenticity of this gift, which the Saint Paul is writing about. In the first part the Diploma work deals with the main attitudes of the Catholic Church towards charismas from the perspective of what Holy Scripture and Catechism of the Catholic Church says on the charismas. The Diploma work efforts to develop a spiritual knowledge of charismas, their authenticity and also a danger of sliding out of the Church.
