The theoretical part focuses on anatomy and physiology of the kidney, characteristics, causes and symptoms of acute and chronical renal failure. It also deals with diagnostics and possible treatment methods, which include regime measures, pharmacotherapy, blood elimination methods and transplantation. This thesis also includes nursing care for patients treated in these methods. The empirical part is formed a quantitative questionnaire survey that focuses on the quality of life. The questionnaire begins with questions related to socio-demographic data.
