Testing laboratories management system
Kosina, Jiří ; Koška, Petr (referee) ; Fiala, Alois (advisor)
The master’s thesis describes and analyzes the current reservation system of testing devices in Honeywell, spol. s r.o. – HTS CZ, o.z. divize ACS. The system is analyzed by using Six Sigma methods and proposes for improving the current system are prepared. These improvements should improve the functionality of the reservation system and possible savings. Appropriate metrics for measuring and evaluating the functionality of the system are designed.
Spolehlivá správa času pomocí TSC na platformách s nestabilním TSC
Boháč, Jiří ; Kosina, Jiří (advisor) ; Bureš, Tomáš (referee)
Some SMP hardware architectures (including x86_64) have unsynchronized Time Stamp Counters (TSC) between individual CPUs. This implies that TSC can't be used reliably to implement a fast gettimeofday() system call in a straightforward way. The current Linux kernel implementation uses synchronized (but significantly slower) hardware time sources on these architectures. The primary aim of this thesis is to perform a detailed analysis of how TSC could be used for reliable and accurate approximation of current time, so that it could be used as a trustworthy and fast time source. A working implementation based on the outcome of the analysis is expected.
Analysis of possibilities of encapsulation of network protocols into application protocols and methods of detection on firewalls
Nepivoda, Martin ; Kosina, Jiří (advisor) ; Obdržálek, David (referee)
The goal of this work is to analyze possible ways of network protocol into application protocol encapsulation - as used for example to create network tunnel or bypass rewall rules. Methods to detect such encapsulation on network rewalls aimed to prevent such application protocol tunnels are proposed. The work includes reference implementation of one proposed method.
E-mail client for J2ME devices
Nguyen, Son Tung ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Kosina, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the project is to create a optimized client for using on mobile J2ME devices capable of work with emails. Both POP3 and iMAP servers will be supported to retrieve mails. SMTP protocol will be used for sending emails. The client will also support MIME type attachments and display basic supported formats like: txt, jpg, png and other multimedia formats that are supported by user's mobile device. Standard mail boxes like Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Trash... will be supported as well. Emails can be ordered by various user's criterias : by subjects, date, size and senders or recipients. The program will support many email accounts. Automatic new emails checking. Operations that take longer time can be halted and whose progress will be displayed. Inteligent T9-like addressbook.
Communication software for cellular phones
Kontsek, Martin ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Kosina, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this project is to write a program for mobile phones that will be able to create a network out of surrounding mobile phone by using the Bluetooth Protocol. It will be able to send media like text, audio, images and video (for those phones that support it). The program will also be capable of sending these media through the Jabber Protocol by using Uuencode/Uudecode. The program will be written in Java 2 Micro Edition a will be an add-on to an existing program "Mobber", in which the Jabber Protocol is already implemented.
