The use of physiotherapy procedures in patients with compartment syndrome in the context of arterial closures
Kubánek, Marek ; Heřmanová, Ivona (advisor) ; Kohoutová, Hana (referee)
BACHELOR'S THESIS ABSTRACT Author's first name and surname: Marek Kubánek Supervisor: Bc. Ivona Heřmanová Title of the thesis: The use of physiotherapy procedures in patients with compartment syndrome in the context of arterial closures Abstract This thesis deals with physiotherapy methods used in the treatment of compartment syndrome. The first part describes the overview of the theoretical knowledge in anatomy, defines the basic concepts and finally deals with individual physiotherapy practices. The research is focused on comparing the Vojta method and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation in two patients with the diagnosis of compartment syndrome. One patient underwent therapy using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, the second patient Vojta reflex locomotion, both in the range of five therapies in five consecutive days. When comparing the two patients achieved a significant improvement in muscle strength. The objectification of measuring muscle strength muscle test was used according to Janda. The measurements resulted in significant differences in comparing the efficiency of both methods. Key words: Compartment syndrome, Physiotheraphy, Vojta's method, PNF, M. tibialis anterior syndrome
Physical growth and efficiency of preschool children regarding motion mode
Kohoutová, Hana ; Dvořáková, Hana (advisor) ; Engelthalerová, Zdeňka (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with comparing the level of physical growth and basic motor skills of preschool children, their motion mode and the conditions for movement activities in two kindergartens located in different municipalities (in a city and in a town). The aim of the study was to determine the level of growth and motor performance of preschool children in relation to the motion mode at their residence. The study included 116 children aged 4-6. The level of physical growth was assessed by measuring somatic characteristics of children (height, weight, BMI). The data extracted from the study were compared to percentile charts. The level of motor performance was assessed by sensory tests. In the case of basic motor skills there was chosen 20 ms run with standing start for the testing of speed capability, for the evaluation of explosive strength abilities was selected jump from the spot with two legs reflection, the testing of explosive strength of the upper limbs was exercised by a ball throw by both right and left hand. At the same time, these tests show the level of motor performance of preschool children. To map the conditions of the motor development of preschool children, an analysis of the conditions of the two municipalities and an analysis of the conditions and the education plan of...

Krauseová, Michaela ; Janatová, Markéta (advisor) ; Kohoutová, Hana (referee)
Author's name and surname: Michaela Krauseová Title of bachelor thesis: Evaluation of deviations of subjective visual vertical Workplace: Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Czech Technical University and the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague Supervisor of bachelor thesis: MUDr. Markéta Janatová Year of presentation and defence of bachelor thesis: 2011 The goal of this thesis is to give information on the examination of patients' subject visual verticals (hereinafter the SVV) and the verification of the possibility of using a new method for measuring the SVV created at the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Czech Technical University and the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague The measurement of the SVV was performed in two manners: 1) Using The Bucket Method 2) Using the Wii Balance Board with software Stereo Balance The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I have focused on the basic terminology and the illnesses that are accompanied by a disorder in the perception of spatial orientation and which are necessary for understanding the proper use of this examination method. In the practical part I focused on the actual examination and measurement of the SVV in patients. This thesis includes the...
Evolutionary importance of mixed singing in two species of nightingales
Kohoutová, Hana ; Reifová, Radka (advisor) ; Sedláček, Ondřej (referee)
Singing is important for communication in birds. Some species of birds copy singing from other species. This heterospecific copying of singing is common especially in closely related bird species, and is usually called mixed singing in such cases. Mixed singing is often asymmetric, when only one species of the pair copies a song of the congener. The meaning of mixed singing is not well explained yet. The most common mechanism is probably an error during the learning phase of singing, but in some cases mixed singing can be adaptive. In my master's thesis I deal with the evolutionary meaning of mixed singing in two closely related passerine species - Common nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos) and Thrush nightingale (Luscinia luscinia). These species co-occur in secondary contact zone in central and eastern part of Europe. Only Thrush nightingale which is larger and probably a more dominant species, exhibits mixed singing. In playback experiments in Common nightingale I studied a possible adaptive meaning of mixed singing in relation to interspecific communication. I tested the differences in behavioural and vocal response of Common nightingales to three types of stimuli: pure singing of Common nightingale, pure singing of Thrush nightingale and mixed singing of Thrush nightingale. The tested males...
The use of Nordic Walking in physiotherapy
Hradiská, Lucie ; Kohoutová, Hana (advisor) ; Senetyčová, Miroslava (referee)
Title Use of Nordic Walking in physiotherapy Abstract Nordic Walking is a physical activity, which leads to a substitution of two points and three points stages. Nordic Walking demands great requirements on the circulatory and respiratory systems, increases metabolism, relieves joints and with a correct technique it involves up to 90% of the muscles. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the history of Nordic Walking and its effects on human health. There is described the way of walking with poles for different terrains and with different difficulty. There is also compared the work of chosen muscles during the classic walking and Nordic walking. There is also described an anatomy of hip join, his illness and physiotherapy. The practical part describes the methodology of research. The aim of the research was to confirm the utility of Nordic Walking in physiotherapy. The work includes two case reports of patients with diseases of the hip, the therapy, a questionnaire and Footscan measuring. The research results show that Nordic Walking has therapeutic effects on the physical and mental aspects of man. Key words Nordic Walking, hip joint, Footscan
