Organohalogenic compounds - contaminants of environment
Kociánová, Veronika ; Čáslavský, Josef (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers belong to group of brominated flame retardants. Important property of these substances is their ability to reduce flammability or to prevent ignition of many products of daily use, such us televisions, carpets, mattresses and many others. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers however are characterized by high persistence and lipophility, leading to their accumulation in the environment. In recent years, concerns about the effects of organic halogen compounds on human health, suggesting their inclusion in the list of persistent organic pollutants in 2009. These contaminants are capable of long-range transport and accumulation in the environment. Therefore, the presence of polybrominated diphenyl ethers is systematically observed in the abiotic and biotic components of the environment worldwide. Their presence has been demonstrated in areas that are clearly very distant from sources of contamination. This thesis is focused on the use of gas chromatography to assess the level of contamination of selected components of the environment, especially of soil. For these purposes was used method of gas chromatography with electron capture detection mass spectrometry.
Pyrethroids in abiotic and biotic environmental matrices
Kociánová, Veronika ; Vondráčková, Ilona (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
Synthetic pyrethroids form the main class of synthetic organic insecticides, which are applied in agriculture, household, and public health. Synthetic pyrethroids account form more than 30% of insecticide use worldwide, thereby they gradual replace chemicals of insect pest control as organochlorine and organophosphate insecticides. Pyrethroids are synthetic derivates of natural pyrethrins. In comparison with natural pyrethrins have pyrethroids greater photostability, greater resistence to degradation and greater insecticidal activity. Pyrethroids are labeled as potent neurotoxicants, which interact with sodium channels. Pyrethroids occur in abiotic and biotic environmental matrices. In this study we focused on the determination of this compounds in environmental water samples by GC-ECD, because of the pyrethroids contain atoms of nitrogen and halogens in their structure.
Case history of patient suffering from rupture of the Achilles tendon
Kociánová, Veronika ; Brabencová, Hana (advisor) ; Hoskovec, Jakub (referee)
Author: Veronika Kociánová Title of the work: Case history of patient suffering from rupture of the Achilles tendon In my bachelor's thesis I dedicate most of the time to the problems connected with the rupture of the Achilles tendon and ensuing rehabilitation. This work consists of two parts - a theoretic one and a special one. The theoretic part deals with anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics of the ankle joint and last but not at least with the Achilles heel. Then you can find there more about the formation of the lesion and ensuing operative or conservative solution of this rupture. The practical part is elaborately working with the case history of patient affected by this type of injury and also describes possibilities of rehabilition care. Case history which is used in my thesis was created during continous and professional practise in rehabilitation centre known as CLPA in Prague. Key words: rupture of the Achilles tendon, physiotherapy, rehabilitation
