Bachelor`s thesis deals with design and realization of one possible solution of function generator with use of integrated circuit XR 2206. This function generator operates in frequency range 10Hz – 100kHz and it is designed to generate square, triangle and sine waveforms with variable duty and output amplitude to 10Vpp. Function generator contains inputs for amplitude and frequency modulation.

This master`s thesis deals with design and realization of two-quadrant switching current source for inductive loads. Output current adjustable range is 0 – 1A. Selected topology enables change of current direction. Current supply is made with TDA8920 integrated circuit. Thesis also contains basic information about switching supplies and coils.

Analysis of the effectiveness of the penalty kick in "the Champions League" in 2009-2019

In this bachelor's thesis, we analyse all penalty kicks that were played in the UEFA Champions League over a 10-year period (2009-2019) in terms of performance efficiency. The aim of our work is to analyse and compare penalty kicks using rating scales in the UEFA Champions League during a period of 10 seasons. The partial aim is to create a profile of the so-called ideal shooter. In the analytical part of the work, we look at the historical and organisational analysis of the penalty kick and the basic characteristics of football, as well as the structure of football competitions. In the synthetic part of the work, we then analysed all the recorded penalty kicks from a total of 1250 matches and created rating scales and categories according to different specificities. Based on the data collected, we were also able to create a profile of the so-called ideal shooter. Despite obtaining successful results, we believe that the final values cannot be applied uniformly to all football competitions because of the different quality of players, clubs, competitions, and the uniqueness of this standard situation.

Russian vowel system in comparison with Czech

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to compare the articulation and distribution of Czech and Russian vowels and on the basis of differences devise a suitable way of articulation of Russian vowels for Czech learners. The thesis is divided into two parts; the first one describes the articulation of vowels, the differences in quality and quantity in both languages and quality changes caused by suprasegmental language units with an accent on reductions of the 1st and 2nd degree in Russian. The second part offers a system of phonetic exercises designed in order to improve the articulation of Russian vowels which is primarily intended for Czech pupils. On the translation of The Thunderstorm by Vladimir Nabokov

The diploma thesis offers an analysis of a unique set of texts. The analysis explores the language devices used in the composition of the texts. The set of texts includes a short story Groza by Vladimir Nabokov and its translations. The short story was originally written in Russian, and then translated by the author into English. There exist two Czech translations, one from Russian, one from English. The thesis presents a theoretical framework for the analysis. It is composed of two parts. The first one summarizes the most frequent translation related changes in meaning. The second one compares Nabokov's theory and practice of translation. The theoretical framework is applied to the comparison of the target-language texts with the source-language texts, as well as to the comparison of the two translations from different source-language texts. Comparison of the results of the analysis with the hypotheses stated in the Introduction affirms the movement of the meaning towards stylistic neutrality and shows the influence of the source-language upon the target-language. On the other hand it rejects the statement that Nabokov as a self-translator wanted to preserve the literary qualities of the text, being ready to sacrifice its language qualities.
