Returnees from Emigration to Czechoslovakia 1968 - 1989

This thesis focuses on topic of emigration, more particularly re-emigration, in Czechoslovakia during times of so called "normalization". The main task is to analyze the deposition of returnees by officers of State Security, how they constructed their life stories, how they described their motivation to leave Czechoslovakia and to come back, the circumstances of their life in western countries and the circumstances of their return to Czechoslovakia. This thesis attempts to create a typology of returnees based on their own description of their lives in the depositions, especially in context of their motivation and their departure. Slovak student's association in Prague Detvan at the turn of the 20th century

The bachelor thesis Slovak student's association in Prague Detvan at the turn of the 20th century focuses on development of activities and changes in the opinions of members of Detvan in the period from its establishment in 1882 up to the first years of the 20th century. The task is to give a view on the functioning of Detvan especially during the first decade of the existence of the associaton. The first part is concerned with description of activities and relationships with other associations, Czech public and Hungarian government. The sphere of interest is also a literary production of members which resulted in the creation of their own opinions independent from the representatives of the national movement in Slovakia. In the centre of attention is also a culmination of this process in redaction of the magazine Hlas in which were involved some members of Detvan. The thesis is based on the study of archival fund deposited in the Archives of Charles University and memoirs of the members.
