Efficiency of phosphorus retention in retention dams of the water reservoir Švihov
Čubová, Lenka ; Heřmanovský, Martin (advisor) ; Sychová, Petra (referee)
This work deals with mass balance of phosphorus in the forline water reservoir Švihov in Želivka river. Retention dams Němčice, Trnávka and Sedlice were built to protect the main water reservoir Švihov. Samples for determination of total phosphorus were within the water management monitoring collected and subsequently processed by laboratory staff of Prague state enterprice Vltava River. Monthly flows on inputs and outputs for each tank were obtained from limnigrafice stations. From those dates, which were provided by the state enterprise Vltava River, they were calculated by mass balance of phosphorus in individual tanks. In term of retention of efficacy of those nutrients ballasts tank is in the range 23-48% of the deposited phosphorous. Retention dams favorably influence the quality of surface water, and that transform the incoming nutrients and trap silt from the basin, which are thus not deposited in the water reservoir itself.
Heavy metals in Ohře river
Hrnko, Vladimír ; Vach, Marek (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
In this thesis, I dealt with the contamination of surface layers of river sediment in areas of Karlovy Vary and Sokolov selected elements and their comparison with data industry unencumbered by sediment from the area Písty and the limits of the International commission for the protection of the Elbe (MKOL). The sediments were collected from monitored Ohře River Basin in the stretch Sokolov- Karlovy Vary, which runs through the industrial area of Karlovy Vary and Sokolov. In his thesis to prove whether the above flow influenced by industrial activities based on an evaluation of data from the samples. As a measure I chose indicators of heavy metal concentrations in surface sediments of the river flow. The samples were taken quarterly during the year at six sites. I chose three sites in Sokolov and three locations in Karlovy Vary. For comparison, one of the samples taken from the Karlovy Vary in the CHKO Slavkovský les, Svatošské skály. The monitored parameters are pH, Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn. This locality is very ignored in these indicators and the results of my measurements can be an important basis for monitoring further developments in the river.
Evaluation of groundwater storage and use in Ústí nad Orlicí
Pivrnec, Tomáš ; Pavlásek, Jiří (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
This thesis is focused on the evaluation of the usage of groundwater in Ústí nad Orlicí region. Part of the thesis is oriented on the general description of the types of waters and focused on the groundwater, groundwater protection and pumping. Second part is focused on the specific territory close to the city of Ústí nad Orlicí, where the water wells for the city water supply are located. Thesis also describes territories of water intakes, history of water supply in the given territory and operation of the aqueducts. Thesis also analyses water quality for the specific elements, water supply and the price development of drinking water in Ústí nad Orlicí. The relation between an amount of pumping water and chemical composition of drinking water is presented at the final part of the thesis.
Modelling of flood event runoff and flood lines in Želivka river
Mudra, Jiří ; Roub, Radek (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
Nowadays, the issue of floods and flood protection is very reflected theme which is dedicated to the thesis. The first part deals with the gathering and the processing of relevant information, the emphasis is on the development of basic questions about flooding and flood protection because of importance for understanding its. The next part of thesis provides a description of the catchment Želivka which involves the interest area which is bounded swells water reservoir Švihov at 41.6182 Km and dykes of water reservoirs Sedlice at 63.8893 Km. The next, the thesis also discusses the modeling of steady flow of flood flows and modeling flood lines in the area of interest. For the simulation are used ArcGIS 10.2 with overlaid of GeoRAS, HEC-RAS 4.1.0 and the description of creating a model for the assembly are used the digital elevation model fifth-generation, transverse profiles of stream, longitudinal profile of stream and roughness of stream and inundation and geometry of objects on the stream. The outcome of this work are maps of inundation in selected sections on the stream, in particular in areas with existing buildings.
Influence of seasons on the pollution of selected water bodies in the Příbram region
Vaňková, Petra ; Vach, Marek (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
The objective of this Diploma Thesis is to evaluate the impact of water quality factors and year-seasons factors on the development of pollution levels in three ponds located in the Příbram area. The theoretical part of the Thesis focuses on different aspects related to the study of surface water. It elaborates on the types of water, their chemical analysis, the classification of surface water, measuring methods, and the theories of anthropogenic pollution. The sources for the theoretical part were selected from relevant scientific literature focusing on surface waters and their chemical composition. The practical part of the Thesis contains detailed description of the focus location and the three specific ponds, the methods of sample collection and analysis applied, and of the processing, assessment, evaluation and interpretation of results. The pollution concentration indicators were measured through laboratory analysis of the collected samples. The Thesis contains measurement results for the levels of ammonium nitrogen, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, chromium, lead, cadmium, copper and nickel. The collected evidence revealed significant pollution levels in the measured ponds. The pollution was found to be of anthropogenic origin, and caused predominantly by agricultural activity and contamination by waste water. Research data indicates that all water objects under examination show comparable levels of pollution. A strong correlation between the values of pollution indicators and the season of the year was established for nitrates and phosphates. On the other hand, levels of ammonium nitrogen show merely a slight correlation with the season of the year.
Interpolation of point rainfall data
Doležalová, Denisa ; Máca, Petr (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
This thesis is about the problematics of interpolation of ponit rainfall data. The main idea is to describe and evaluate interpolation methods using professional literature. Czech as well as foreign professional literature has been used for this thesis.
Disaggregation of rainfall data
Němeček, Václav ; Máca, Petr (advisor) ; Heřmanovský, Martin (referee)
The bachelor thesis studies selected disaggregation methods, which are used for the description of hydrological time series. The literature search provides the survey of important disaggregation methods. The special attention is put on disaggregation method using the Wavelet coefficients. The methods of moment were applied on estimation of parameters for disaggregation model. Variance reduction function were estimated for selected precipitation time series obtained from the MOPEX database.
