Forgotten Carinthian Photographers
Golob, Rok ; Scheufler, Pavel (advisor) ; Silverio, Robert (referee)
Photography is one of the media of mass reproduction of the artwork in the era of industrial society, accompanying one of the most unpeacefule time in the history. My master degree work follows the developement of photography in Carinthia from the end of 19th century up to the 1996 in the light of historical, political, social changes and the development of photographic artisanship. Following the work of local photographers as Ferdinand Andreiz, Franc Chovník (1881 ? 1971), Stanko Chovník, (1927), Maks Dolinšek (1910 ? 1987), Maks Kunc (1930 - 1997), Dr. Hans Harpf (1866 ? 1938) I found some technically and thematically excellent photographic works, but I also stated their basic tendence to document static views of Carinthia rather than its stormy history.
