Development of spoken German language among students with special needs at lower secondary school

The diploma thesis deals with the development of spoken language in German among pupils with special educational needs in primary schools. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out whether the applied activities implemented within the intervention sessions contributed to the development of spoken language in selected pupils with special educational needs. The monitored pupils attend the ninth grade of a primary school established according to section 16 of the Education Act. One of the monitored pupils has a diagnosed specific learning disability, the second pupil has a diagnosed hyperkinetic disorder with attention deficit and the third monitored pupil has a diagnosed autism spectrum disorder. The theoretical part deals with the teaching of German as a second foreign language in Czech elementary schools, with spoken language, with the special educational needs of the monitored pupils and, last but not least, with the manifestations of these diagnoses in the teaching of the German language. The practical part contains research led by the case study method, which is carried out through eight intervention meetings with the monitored pupils.
