The Betrayal of Anne Frank

This thesis focuses on the story of Anne Frank, her friends and family and how they were reported to the authorities, which resulted in their imprisonment in concentration camps and eventually death. The thesis includes an analysis and summary of information on possible traitors. In the thesis introduction, I am presenting information about police inspection of the Frank's family and friend's case, which was done in several stages. The paper is divided into three parts. The intention of the first part is to explain the situation in the Netherlands during the World War II., for both Jewish and non-Jewish citizens. There are informations about the low survival rate of the Jews in the Netherlands and I am also posing a question if in this case we can speak of guilt or innocence of the entire Dutch nation at that time. In the second part, we will find details about Anne Frank's family, about their life in Germany and their escape to the Netherlands, about their life before the war and during the war, first free and later in hiding. The third part contains information about possible traitors, theories that have arisen around these names and the most recent point of view on those historical events.
