Geomorphological conditions for debris-flows in the central part of the Western Tatras
Dlabáčková, Tereza
This thesis focuses on morphometric characteristic of debris flows and also areal and frequency changes over time in the Roháčská Valley and its tributary valleys, Western Tatra Mountains. Aerial images taken in 1973, 1986, 2003 and 2015 were used to delineate the spatial extent of debris flows transportation-accumulation zones as well as their length in each period. Changes within the whole period 1973 - 2015 were quantified and a general trend in debris flows spatial extent was outlined. Selected morphometric characteristic (e.g. elevation, slope, aspect or solar radiation) for both the initiation and deposition areas were determined for the present debris flow tracks using the digital elevation model. Field works were aimed to delineation of transportation-accumulation areas below the tree line (paticular attention was given to frontal parts and lateral léves of debris flow accumulations). The degree of weathering of selected boulders (Schmidt hammer test) was determined and also the diameter of Rhizocarpon geographicum thali was measured. About 98 debris flow tracks presently occur in the study area. In the periods of 1973 - 1986 and 2003 - 2015 decrease of debris flows transportation-depositional zones was observed, unlike the period of 1986 - 2003 when slight increase of debris flows...
Formation conditions of debris flow on 15.5. 2014 in Smutná valley (Western Tatra mts.)
Dlabáčková, Tereza ; Engel, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Vilímek, Vít (referee)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to determinate conditions what trigger debris flow on 15. 5. 2014 in Smutna valley (Western Tatra Mts.). Statistical method 4σ and additional global and local event duration model and local event precipitation model were used. Derived values with thresholds based on these models were compared. Geomorphological mapping of debris flow using GPS was made. Another base characteristics of debris flow werefound out, e.g. areal debris accumulation or leeves, wide and depth of debris flow path. Derived rainfall values from 4σ model, event-duration model and event precipitation model was exceeded. Debris flow with it's lenght belongs to more extensive debris flows, but e.g. path widht is common in Western Tatra Mts. Keywords: landslide, debris flow, threshold, Western Tatra Mts.
Spatial distribution and morphometric features of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mts.
Hotový, Jan ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Dlabáčková, Tereza (referee)
This paper deals with a topic of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mountains. The aim of this work is to describe an origin of the block fields generally, characterise their spatial distribution, morphometric and structure features, including their specific thermal regime. Another task is to characterise and classify the block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts and compare them with the similar accumulations described in literature. 30 block fields were identified in this area. Morphometric analysis based on digital elevation model revealed that block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts are sized roughly from 200 to 5 500 m2 and occur mostly at 725 - 750 m a. s. l. on steep or very steep slopes with a prevailing southern- -west and west exposure. An additional exploration of a bedrock confirmed that block fields here consist of conglomerate and silicite rocks. The results provide information about paleoclimate of Brdy Mts and their surroundings. Key words: block fields, Brdy Mountains, frost weathering, morphometric characteristics
