Experimental poetry in applied arts teaching for a second grade of primary school
DAVIDOVÁ, Eliška
The presented theoretical and project diploma thesis deals with the theme of the Czech experimental poetry of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century and its elaboration through an art - literary project at the 2nd grade of elementary school. The theoretical part gives a general insight into the issues of experimental poetry and project teaching, the project part in which the proposed project is implemented follows. In addition to the described implementation, the project part also includes a didactic analysis of partial lessons. The diploma thesis complements the pictorial annexes related to the theoretical part, photographic documentation of partial lessons and proposed structured preparation.
Cellular senescence escape mechanisms - anti-cancer barrier
Davidová, Eliška ; Hodný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Horníková, Daniela (referee)
Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases of the modern world. Therefore, many world laboratories engaged in research into the causes leading to the outbreak of this insidious disease. In this context, it has already been found that the normal animal cells do not divide indefinitely, but have a finite replicative life span. After this period, cells undergo either apoptotic processes or enter into so-called senescence, typical for proliferation arrest, but preserved metabolic processes. Further research has revealed that senescence serves as an effective anticancer program and currently is shed light on its significance in relation to various physiological or pathological processes associated with aging. In this work, the focus is on the role of senescence as a barrier for cancer development, and effectiveness. It can be assumed, that if the senescent cycle arrest functioned perfectly, the incidence of cancer among people would be recorded in much lower extent. The aim of this thesis is the current knowledge about the physiological and pathological roles of senescence and possible causes of overcoming this barrier, the result may be the uncontrolled cell division and tumorigenicity.
Journalism of Jakub Deml
Davidová, Eliška ; Iwashita, Daniela (advisor) ; Binar, Vladimír (referee)
The thesis deals with Jakub Demlʼs works published in newspapers, magazines and periodic anthologies. It offers a chronological review of this part of Demlʼs work and tries to establish its major periods based on its changes, considering also his books and life. The thesis also attends to the functions and genres of these texts, particularly in relation with the concept of journalism. It further examines selected affairs associated with Jakub Deml which are to be found in contemporary journals. The pivotal part of the thesis is a bibliography of all accessible texts which encompasses their latter editions and references to other related works and people. Key words: Jakub Deml, journalism, bibliography.
Art interventions in public space and their educational potential (theoretical thesis)
DAVIDOVÁ, Eliška
The theoretical diploma thesis presented deals with chosen artistic activities within a public space and outlines their educational purposes for pupils of grammar and high schools. For this purpose, the artistic movements and terms which are related to art in a public space are clarified at first, the problems in education of the current art lessons then follow. The thesis is concluded with the analysis of the three contemporary artistic activities which took place in a public space within the domestic surroundings.
An Example and a Scandal: On the Reception of Deml’s Testimony About Otokar Březina
Davidová, Eliška
Deml’s most comprehensive book, My Testimony About Otokar Březina (1931), provoked a wave of outrage in the Czechoslovakian press on publication. This contribution examines a sample of ten different texts written at the time and on this basis outlines the main narratives adopted by the participants in the debate as well as their motivations, methods of argumentation and, finally, the key topics discussed. It determines the central motif in the debate to be the image of a dead poet which represented a key element in the mythology of the recently founded republic.
Method of Drawing on the right side of the brain from the perspective of art education
DAVIDOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis presents critical and comparative study devoted to the analytic method called Drawing on the right side of the brain and its comparison to traditional teaching models of drawing. The text is based primarily on an analysis of methodological materials by Betty Edwards (author of the book Learn to draw on the right side of the brain) and confronts them with the latest findings in neuroscience which are dealing with localization of creative acts. This thesis aims to critically point out the differences in the concept of teaching methods of drawing, their professional basis and to update their creative and learning potential for the sphere of art education.
Role of transcription factor Snail in mechanism of development of radiorezistence in prostate carcinoma cell lines
Davidová, Eliška ; Hodný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Benada, Jan (referee)
The frequent cause of failure of prostate carcinoma radiotherapy and chemotherapy is the emergence of resistance and a progress into the essentially incurable metastatic form of disease. Although the mechanisms of the radioresistance and chemoresistance are still not well understood, recent studies indicate that transcription factor Snail, a key mediator of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition and subsequent metastasis formation, plays a critical role in the development of the chemoresistance and radioresistance in the tumor cells. As the activation of the optimal DNA damage response pathway is the determining factor for the cell survival after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we hypothesized the role of Snail in the transcription regulation of these processes. In this study, we first analyzed the relationship between Snail and ATM kinase, as the ATM was recently reported to regulate stability of Snail by its phosphorylation. Although, we observed a modest effect of ATM inhibition on Snail levels after cancer cells exposure to ionizing radiation, we did not fully reproduced the recently published findings. Furthermore, we evaluated the role of Snail in transcription regulation of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21waf1/cip1 . Our data point towards the suppressive role of Snail in p21waf1/cip1...
