Social and geographical aspects of support for and variability of nationalism in Czechia
Cihlář, Pavel ; Lepič, Martin (advisor) ; Suchánek, Jonáš (referee)
Czech nationalism is a phenomenon that formed Czech history and it is still forming the Czech identity and attitudes. Nevertheless, this term significantly disappeared from the Czech public debate, as if it no longer concerned the Czech nation. This bachelor thesis tries to go against the trend, it`s target is to introduce the Czech nation and nationalism, to define the factors that determine the nationalist attitudes, and the analysis of their spatial variability. To achieve the targets the thesis uses a statistical method of binary logistic regression which is used for monitoring the relationship between the proxy variable of nationalism and the independent variables which are the basic structural and attitude variables commonly used in nationalism research. Through these predictors, the two influential hypotheses explaining the support for nationalism are tested. The theory of "losers of globalization" supposes the conditionality in the economic status and the theory of "cultural backlash" based on a nativist ideology. The found statistic associations were further observed in a regional detail using regions defined on the base of two - many times observed spatial patterns, namely phantom`s borders and dichotomy of core-periphery, further according to their combination and also according to the...
The effect of the ontogeny on the rate of photosynthesis and transpiration in selected genotypes poppy seeds (Papaver somniferum L.)
Vorobkalo, Nikita ; Hniličková, Helena (advisor) ; Cihlář, Pavel (referee)
The objective of this thesis is an influence of ontogenesis on the speed of photosynthesis and transpiration among chosen genotypes of opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.). Photosynthesis is an important process from the point of view of the biomass production and the production of harvest. This is one of the most important processes on the Earth, which contributes to existence of all heterotrophs. Transpiration is a process, which has place in a plant, provides movement of water with mineral elements from the roots, through all parts of a plant and waters evaporation from aerial parts. The first chapter is devoted to general characterization of opium poppy, its origin, environment claims, and general characterization of photosynthesis and transpiration. The second chapter includes results of measurements and their explanation. Within this Bachelor Thesis three sorts of opium poppy, with different content of alkaloids, were observed: Buddha, HU; Tatranský, SK; Akvarel (CM 112), CZ. Small-plot experiments were based on a research station Červený Újezd in a year 2015. The measurement of speed of photosynthesis and transpiration was provided with gasometrical method by the device LCpro+. It has been established, that during the ontogenesis has reached to acceleration of photosynthesis. The speed of transpiration doesnt depend on a process of plants development, but depends on a water regime and the weather.
Options control the occurrence of tiny cranesbill (Geranium pusillum) in the poppy crop.
Nouza, Petr ; Cihlář, Pavel (advisor) ; Tomášek, Jaroslav (referee)
Summary The aim of the thesis was to find out as much information available about the smallflowered cranesbill (Geranium pusillum) as possible, which would contribute to the struggle against the poppy plant (Papaver somniferum). These information are: morphology, nutrition requirements, requirements for environment, vegetation period, seed formation, quantity of seed dispersal, germination and dormancy of seeds. Further aim was to find out which preparation shows effect on cranesbill diminutive and its potential phytotoxicity on poppy with emphasis on the pre-emergence herbicides which were used in the experiment. Five agents were used as separately or as combinations, namely: clomazone, pethoxamid, mesotrione , metezachlor and DMTA - P. Final aim was to determine which product and active agent is able to exterminate smallflowered cranesbill in other crops.
Effect of mineral fertilizer before sowing the embedding seeders yield poppy (Papaver somniferum L.)
Hrušková, Jana ; Cihlář, Pavel (advisor) ; Tomáš, Tomáš (referee)
Poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) is plant which is in Czech Republic cultivated and consumed for a long time. Czech Republic was the biggest producer of poppy seeds in the world. It is not true currently but Czech Republic is still one of the most important producers of poppy. Czech growers produce high quality poppy seeds but they had several problems during last years. For example fluctuation of price of poppy and bad weather condition. Those problems influenced crop. Those complications caused that growers of poppy try to have stable yields for good profit. Yield parameters, such as amount and quality of poppy seeds and volume of alkaloids, are the most important for growers. Amount and quality of poppy seeds are important for food industry and volume of alkaloids for pharmaceutical industry. The parameters are influenced especially by climatic and soil conditions. Growers are not able to influence climatic factors such as intensity and regularity of rainfalls, actual temperature and wind conditions. But they can influence other factors by good agrotechnical interventions. One of the most important parameters for good growth of poppy is volume of elements in soil, especially nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and microelements, boron and zinc. Except that things is very important good soil treatment, suitable technology, right term for sowing and choice of good seeds. For intensive producing of poppy seeds is very important protection against pests, diseases and weed. Like prevention is important good soil treatment and other things such as application of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides and seed dressing by fungicides. This work includes general overview about poppy growing focusing on influence of mineral fertilizers on yields of different variety of poppy. We did experiment, the goal of experiment was to find out influence of application of mineral fertilizers on poppy yields. We used two different variety of poppy and we evaluated influence of said factors. Subjects of observation were yield parameters, amount of plants on 1m2, weight of poppy, weight of capsules and HTS (weight of thousand seeds).
Using the Technology of Narrow Rows as an Anti-Erosion Measure in Corn Cultivation
Nevěčný, Karel ; Tomášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Cihlář, Pavel (referee)
Soil is a basic, limited and non-renewable natural resource. It is the natural wealth of each country. Therefore, soil erosion is a major problem not only in the Czech Republic, but also on a global scale. As a result of the erosion process, the stability of soil aggregates is broken; there appears loss of organic matter and nutrient transport, or land within the property or outside. These factors cause irreversible damage to soils, which ultimately has both environmental and economic impacts. As the wide-rows crops areas increase, including corn there increases even the interest of professionals and the public in that problem. At the present, there are searched new technologies of corn cultivation, which should help in elimination of risks associated with that crop cultivation. The aim of this thesis was to analyze selected soil conservation technologies in corn crops in the company ZD Krasna Hora nad Vltavou in terms of their impact on aquatic soil erosion and biomass production. There were analyzed the technologies of tillage disc harrows soil processing, sowing directly into freezing-out crops and as a control a fallow was established. We have also analyzed two inter-rows spacing of vegetation establishment, namely 37,5 cm and 75 cm. The results of this work show an evident positive effect of no-tillage technology of corn cultivation, whether in the narrow or wide rows that are particularly effective at the beginning of the growing season, which is the most problematic for corn. As for the yield of biomass is concerned, the highest yield of biomass was achieved in variants with the width of 75 cm and in technology of sowing into freezing-out crops. The work also includes a literature review, which covers erosion, erosion control measures, corn and tillage systems. Special attention is paid to so-called soil-protection technologies, which are used primarily in wide-rows crops such as corn.
