Development of lightweight composites based on foam glass with utilization in civil engineering
Bubeník, Jan ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Theoretical part of diploma thesis deals with progressive building materials, namely with aggregate from foam glass. Resources for production, description of production, properties of aggregate and its utilization are included. Production of lightweight gaping concrete, its properties, risks during its production and utilization in building practice are part of diploma thesis as well. Lightweight gaping concrete was made during practical part. It was produced by combining aggregate from foam glass and cement. Testing of required properties was carried out on these made samples.

Human rights in the times of coronavirus
Bubeník, Jan ; Antoš, Marek (advisor) ; Kudrna, Jan (referee)
The theme of the thesis "Human rights in the times of coronavirus" is an analysis of exceptional situation as coronavirus pandemic which occurred on the territory of the Czech republic in years 2020 to 2022 and its range and impact represented a completely unprecedented exceptional situation. In connection with that, crisis legislation was used to an unseen extent, showing its drawbacks, in some cases amplified by the approach of the crisis management bodies and public health protection authorities. The aim of this thesis is to analyse crisis legislation, approach of the crisis management bodies and public health protection authorities during the covid-19 pandemic. To provide a comprehensive representation, an outline of the course of the pandemic on the territory of the Czech Republic is given in the initial part of the thesis, whereas approach of the bodies and authorities mentioned above was directly linked to this. The part describing the course of the pandemic is followed by the part in which the state of emergency is analysed, including its nature, process of issuing and problems linked to the state of emergency, mainly originating from its repeated extension. The process of issuing emergency measures and selected individual limitations are also analysed. In the part dealing with individual...

Anticancer immunity in animal models and experimental immunotherapy with glycodendrimers specific for the lectin-like receptor NKR-P1
Vannucci, Luca Ernesto ; Fišerová, Anna (advisor) ; Bubeník, Jan (referee) ; Apte, Ron Nathan (referee)
5 SUMMARY Anticancer immunity is a complex network in which innate immunity play an critical role. The immune system can control the onset of tumors by recognizing the changed phenotype of the transformed cells as a non-self phenotype. The active control against cells not presenting self characters is defined by the paradigm of immune surveillance. In recent years, various studies have shown that the immune response against transformed cells start as a localized acute inflammatory response. The cooperation of natural-killer cells (NK) and phagocytes attracted by so-called "danger signals" (pro-inflammatory molecules and chemo-attractants delivered by stressed cells) can lead to total ablation of the harmful cell clone. If the intervention is not completely efficient, immunoediting of the tumor can follow with stimulation of chronic inflammatory responses, mainly mediated by macrophages. The systemic immunity attempt to terminate the uncontrolled inflammation stimulates the intervention of regulatory T lymphocytes and the shift from an antitumor cytotoxic Th1 response to a Th2 inhibitory response. This regulatory mechanism paradoxically assists the tumor development. All the described events needs the interplay and cooperation of both tumor cells and host cells and stromal elements, that altogether form the...
