The influence of compression on bonding strength of glued joint
Trinklová, Karolína ; Bomba, Jan (advisor)
Thesis is dealing with PVAC dispersion adhesives. Main objective of this thesis is to assess the influence of compression pressure on strenght of glued joint. For research were used two kinds of adhesives. Secondary task was also determine if one of used glues suits to normatively appointed denominations of classe of durability D3. Speciments were made according to norms ČSN EN 204 a ČSN EN 205, than they were gummed by selected glues using different compression pressures and exposed to appointed conditions, which corresponds to classes of durability D1, D2 and D3. Finally there were determined strenght of glued joints according to the same norms and evaluated the influence of compression pressure. Results from all measurments were registred per tables and graphs.
Durability of polyurethane foams for upholstered furniture
Antonyová, Eliška ; Bomba, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to examine the durability of polyurethane foam for upholstered furniture. In the theoretical part are described the various types of forming materials and their service life according to the authors of the individual publications. In the practical part is described itself to examination, which consists of several months of use of a piece of furniture with a variety of shaping surfaces. In the final part are summarized the results of the practical part and the economic evaluation of the springing materials with a view to the durability of polyurethane foams.
Design of original piece of furniture for modern interior
Schořovská, Veronika ; Bomba, Jan (advisor) ; Podlena, Milan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on issues of multifunctional furniture design which would be suitable for all apartments featuring a small surface area. The first chapter contains a partial overview of the historical progress in multifunctional furniture design, description of a variety of projects designed by worldwide known designers and a summary of trends in housing. The second chapter gives a detail description of the procedure of the furniture design. The third chapter is focused on my own multifunctional furniture design including a selection of suitable materials and its price calculation. In the attachments of this thesis there are sketches of the furniture in many different stages as the formation, constructional design and visualization.
Influences of atmospheric conditions and kind of paints for their durability in the exterior exposition.
Malinský, Josef ; Pánek, Miloš (advisor) ; Bomba, Jan (referee)
Abstract Name: Bc. Josef Malinský, DiS. Diploma thesis topic: Impact of atmospheric factors and the type of coating on their durability when used outdoors. Abstract: This thesis deals with an assessment of qualities and lacks of coatings of a particular coating system. Its result is a recommendation of the best of the evaluated coatings. The introduction shows an analysis of the historical development of coatings and an overview of coatings in general, as well as a list of the most commonly used coating systems for the protection of wood used outdoors. The thesis describes the ways of applying coatings and the methods of correct applying coatings focussed on wood protection and durability. The aim of the second part is to choose the best coating according to the results and parameters of the testing. This part includes a description of the preparation of tested objects, applying coatings and the way of measuring the parameters before and after the exposure of such objects to an accelerated ageing process in accordance with the Czech norm ČSN EN 927 part 6. Comparing the qualities of particular coatings results in a recommendation of the best of the coatings assessed. The third part of the thesis describes a variability of atmospheric conditions and their impact on the results of the testing of coating systems. It results in an evaluation and assessment of particular differences in testing the particular coatings in accordance with the Czech norms ČSN EN 927 part 3 and ČSN EN 927 part 6. The aim of this part of the thesis is to answer the question whether and to what extent degradation of the tested coating is affected by the difference of climate conditions when being tested for accelerated ageing and natural ageing. Key words: surface treatment, wood coatings, testing, outdoor exposure
Design of wooden building kit
Vinopalová, Pavla ; Bomba, Jan (advisor) ; Pánek, Miloš (referee)
This thesis describes the design of wooden building kit on the principle of gears. Summarizes the problems of calculations and graphic design for gears, work with computer software, and then the laser and the CNC device. Presents the pros and cons of making such building kits in both machining methods and draws conclusions about their suitability and economy. Provides overall production process, from market research (which similar building kits are usually trade in Czech republic nowadays), the numerical and graphic design, to verifying the functionality of the prototype. The thesis is based on scientific literature that addresses the issue of gears, tooling, surface finish of wood etc. It must also take into account the Czech legislation and standards concerning toys.
Laser device optimization based on treated types of material.
Jindra, Jakub ; Bomba, Jan (advisor) ; Prajer, Martin (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the use of a laser device focused on quality of a cut. It examines and compares the various intensity settings and motion speed of the laser. Optimal settings is thus determined for assorted kinds of solid wood, wood-based materials and other non-wooden materials.
Determining the resistance of paint films due to the thickness and number of layers
Ježek, Jan ; Bomba, Jan (advisor) ; Pánek, Miloš (referee)
In the theoretical part of this work there is described the theory of coating substances: sorts of coating substances, making a coating (paint) film and requirements of coating matters. In the practical part there was being found an affect of cold liquids upon concrete coating substances, an affect of the thickness of the coating film upon the resulting surface resistence and an affect of wood upon the quality of the coating. No difference of film quality of coating substances applied to conifers and leafy wood was evidenced. The quality of coating was applied to plawood materials where pores of the upper veneer were filled with paste and so there was no difference between conifers and leafy wood. According to statistics there is no important affect upon the film quality. The coatings 80 and 150g/m2 were used, which are the limited statements of an interval recommmended by producers and the quality of coating is declared. The result: the most aggressive liquid was remover, then plum brandy, Savo liquid, vinegar and mouthwash. Jar, the preparation for washing dishes, was the least aggressive.
Contemporary front doors - parameters and construction
Sedlická, Anežka ; Bomba, Jan (advisor) ; Beránek, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis provides a summary of all available knowledge about wooden front doors, their classification and parameters. It describes doors made in the early 20st century and after WWII and compares them with contemporary trends in terms of their construction as well as aesthetic qualities and materials used. It covers types and materials of doorframes and technical parameters such as fire safety, thermal efficiency and acoustic performance. It includes a detailed description of types of fittings and seals, surface finishes and panelling of which especially glass has undergone major changes. It also touches on the significance of door design and the aesthetic role of doors in the building.
