This bachelor thesis presents a comparative analysis between sign language interpreters' education working at universities in the Czech Republic and Finland. The paper consists of two segments: theory and research. The aim of the theoretical component is to describe the specifics of interpreting at universities based on relevant legislation and sources and to present the educational systems and training possibilities available in both countries. The research is based on a survey among sign language interpreters from the Czech Republic and Finland, which aims to reveal their actual level of education and degree of satisfaction regarding their current professional situation as interpreters at universities and the quality of their own education. The thesis, thus, collates information from the theoretical and research components to analyze and contrast sign language interpreters' education in both countries. Key words: sign language interpreter, sign language, education, educational system, universities, Czech Republic, Finland
