Renaissance artist in personnel testimonies. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Benvenuto Cellini

The aim of this work is to find in the texts of three prominent Renaissance artists evidence of how they themselves reflect on their professional role. From this perspective, the following texts are analyzed: Trattato della Pittura and diaries Scritti letterari by Leonardo da Vinci, verses Le rime and letters Le lettere by Michelangelo Buonarroti, autobiography La Vita and I trattati dell' oreficeria e della scultura by Benvenuto Cellini. The first chapter is a brief introduction to the entire work, followed by three chapters dedicated to individual artists. The second chapter introduces Leonardo da Vinci, his life and work. The third chapter focuses on Michelangelo Buonarroti, his life and work. The fourth chapter is devoted to Benvenuto Cellini, his life and work. A significant part of the work is represented by excerpts from the artists personal documents, through which three thematic areas are analyzed. They are divided into subchapters: "Artist and patron", "Renaissance understanding of the artist" and "Aesthetic opinions ". In the subsections, we follow the roles of individual courts or centers, the specificity of the artist or his relationship to morality. The Italian futurist theater and the Czech avant-garde theater: confluences and influences

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the innovations introduced by the Italian futurists in the theory and practice of theater and on the direct or indirect influences they have exerted on the Czech avant-garde theater. After presenting the Italian movement, through the futuristic manifestos and the main works of the group, I will focus on the Czech theatrical environment and try to identify analogies, differences, influences and confluences between the Italian avant- garde and the Czech production, for example with Prague "Liberated Theater" of Voskovec and Werich, the group Devětsil, Ferenc Futurista, "Dada Theater", and later, "D" of E. Generation Protest of Italian Writers at the Turn of the Twentieth and Twenty-first Centuries

Generation Protest of Italian Writers at the Turn of the Twentieth and Twenty-first centuries The aim of this thesis is an analysis of the generational protest in Italian prose at the turn of the millennium. The thesis examines the works Compleanno dell'iguana (1991) by Silvia Ballestra, Bla bla bla (1997) by Giuseppe Culicchia, Fango (1996) by Niccolò Ammaniti and Superwoobinda (1998) by Aldo Nove, in which the a touch on topics fundamental to modern society. The thesis initially examines the situation of Italian literature in the nineties of the twentieth century, when new literary styles, tendencies and themes appear and a young generation of writers breaks through. The next chapter focuses on identification of the common enemy of all four authors, tries to describe their attitude towards a changing society while defining the aims of their protests. The main part of the thesis is a thematic and stylistic analysis of each work; in some chapters specific stories are discussed separately. The following section offers a comparison of books and a list of common elements. The final part is devoted to a short evaluation of the generational protest and indicates today's different lifestyle. Political Motives in Dante's "Divina Commedia"

The aim of this thesis is to sumarize the elemets of Dante's political ideas, to order and to highlight them according to the evolution of Dante's political belief was evolving via the Divine Comedy where we can see the beggining of his political opinion, which is slowly taking form as he continues his work until the end when Dante forms his theory completely. Apart from the Divine Comedy which is the main book of this thesis we will also work with his important political treatise De Monarchia, where he gradually explains and defends his opinion. Whole thesis is divided into three key parts according to the evolution of Dante's political ideas; the city, the empire and the papacy. Each part includes brief political and historic context of the medieval Italy and then in each part we will focus on some of the important personalities. We will introduce them in short biographical openings and then with the help of Dante's references we described them, we determined his relation to these personalities and thus we stressed out their political profile and importance. The subject of this thesis is the controversy about theatre between Carlo Goldoni and Carlo Gozzi. The introductory part is directed at their biography with an emphasis on the key moments of their life. The following part closely analyses their controversy with reference to their opinions which they wrote about in their polemic works. Niccolò Machiavelli and Tommaso Campanella

The aim of this work is to analyse and to confront ideas and views of Niccolò Machiavelli and Tommaso Campanella, who are both very important Italian political philosophers. The works that will be analysed are Machiavelli's political treatise Il Principe (The Prince) and Campanella's utopian treatise La città del sole (The City of the Sun). This work is divided into four chapters. First chapter is a short introduction and is followed by the focal part of the work. In the second chapter is presented Niccolò Machiavelli's life and work as well as the analyse of his views on chosen topics, which are: ideal prince, ethics and religion. In the third chapter is presented Tommaso Campanella's life, work and also analyse of his views on chosen topics. Last chapter has concluding character, confronts Machiavelli's ideas with Campanella's and points out differences and similiarities betwen both authors.
Mythological Inspiration in the poetry of Lorenzo de' Medici

The first part of this master thesis is focused on the personality of Lorenzo deʼ Medici and his inclusion in the period and cultural contexts. The literary background of Italy in the 15th century is introduced, as well as the Lorenzo's life, the summary of his literary output and his contribution as a patron of the Florentine culture and arts. The second part analyzes four of the Lorenzoʼs works related to mythological themes going back until the ancient writers. Lorenzoʼs evident influence by these authors is illustrated with the specific quotations but at the same time his own innovations in texts and stories are referred to. The conclusion compares an extend of this influence on him and the contribution of his own invention to the particular works. It points out the uniqueness of the personality of Lorenzo deʼ Medici both in the cultural and literary spheres as well.

The subject of this degree paper is the comedies of Angelo Beolco. The introductory part is focused mainly at the life and work of Angelo Beolco. Following this there is an introduction to the comedy genre in 16th century in Italy and the characteristics of erudite comedy, its authors and the change from the erudite comedy to the comedy dell'arte. A further part is given over to an analysis of his comedies La Pastoral (Pastoral), Il Reduce (Returnee) - Primo dialogo: Parlamento de Ruzante che iera vegnú de campo (First dialogue: What said Ruzante when he came back from the battlefield) and Secondo dialogo: Bilora (Second dialogue: Bilora).
"Decamerone" by Giovanni Boccaccio

Subject of this bachelor's thesis is Boccaccio's supreme work - Decameron. In the first part, this thesis presents Boccaccio's life within its historical context, his work and aspects, which helped to form his writing personality. In the second part the structure of Decameron and Boccaccio's pre-humanistic thoughts are being discussed in detail. Poetry of Sebastiano Satta

(in English): The topic of this thesis is poetic work of the premier sardinian poet Sebastiano Satta, thematic constants and reflection of Sardinia in his work. The first chapter is dedicated to the brief overview of historic, social and political context of Sardinia from the unification of Italy until the first world war. Following chapters ale focused on the personal life and work of writor and his integration to the basic context of italian literature at the turn of the 19th and 20th century and their influence to his poetry. After that is thoroughly analyzed poetic work of Sebastiano Satta. There are also chapters regarding the questions of the language and thematic constants in the poetry of the writor. Follows analysis of minor poetry and collections of poems in chronologic way, as Nella Terra dei Nuraghes, Versi ribelli, Canti barbaricini and Canti del Salto e della Tanca. After that follows chapter regarding comparative analysis of motives in poetry of Carducci and Pascoli and the charter regarding reception of the writor's poetry. In the final chapter, based on these analysis are evaluated thematic constants and their progress in the course of collections of poems.
