Function and use ecoduct in Czech Republic
Rösner, Radek ; Šmíd, Petr (advisor) ; Vykouk, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis is the utilization of measures to mitigate the consequences of human intervention in nature. In a review of the thesis I explain the theory of landscape corridors, migration corridor fragmentation and ecoducts themselves. The bachelor thesis deals with the issue at length ecoducts, their function and use in the Czech Republic. Usage analysis was used for statistical and technical data ecoducts that have already been built and which were built according to recent studies and concepts. In ecoducts chapter I pointed out the erroneous initial implementation and construction planning of ecoducts, but also the vision of anticipated and planned realizations of ecoducts construction.
Monitoring of Invasive Plants in Kopitska Dump (Most)
Čtvrtečka, Tomáš ; Vykouk, Martin (advisor) ; Šmíd, Petr (referee)
This bachelors thesis deals with mapping and finding the way of spreading invasive plant species, particularly Reynoutria japonica, Reynoutria sachalinensis, Reynoutria x japonica, Impatiens glandulifera, Solidago gigantea and Solidago canadensis. Kopistys spoil heap, which is situated in the Most Coal Basin in northern Bohemia near Most, was selected as the area of interest for mapping these invasive neophytes. The thesis also includes information about selected invasive plant species and brief physical-geographical characteristics of the territory. In the area of interest were found only individuals of Reynoutria japonica, at 10 sites, as well as individuals Solidago gigantea species in 16 habitats and the last species was Solidago canadensis, which occupied the largest number of sites, a total of 78. It was found way of spreading of the invasion in the territory, distances from each distribution vector was recorded and biotopes, in which invasive plant species were found, was described.
Communication module for power supplies controlling
Zachar, Jiří ; Šmíd, Petr (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design a communication module for laboratory source Manson. This power supply communicates only through a serial RS-232 link. Modern computers usually use for the connection with other peripherals mainly USB. Designed communication module contains converter between the RS-232 and USB. Power supply is used in the automated measurement setup, which is controlled from the Virtual Engineering Environment from the Agilent Technologies. Direct commands for laboratory source Manson are not compatible with the SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) standard commands. So, the communication module converts commands from the SCPI format to Manson supply instructions. The communication with the Manson supply will be obvious for students by using new communication module.
Synchronization of the time using the GPS
Švábeník, Petr ; Šmíd, Petr (referee) ; Vyskočil, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis discusses about using the worldwide satellite system GPS for time and frequency synchronization. This thesis presents study about basic principles of the GPS system, its segments and ways of using this system. Some GPS receivers suitable for receiving the time marks (pulses) used for time synchronization are described. Thesis contents designing of the circuit that will receive time marks and it will digitalize and record external signal and send it with precision time information to PC for displaying and post processing. Thesis also discusses about both hardware and software development of the synchronization module and software used in PC.
Transport Policy in EU and its Influence on the Environment
Šmíd, Petr ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Jeníček, Vladimír (referee)
The first chapter describes the development of a common transport policy in European communities. The chapter includes the policy objectives and measures. The second chapter summarizes the history of environmental policy, the gradual development of its objectives and their penetration into transport policy, as well as the success in achieving its goals. The third chapter is dedicated to the transport policy and environment in the Czech Republic. It contains its national goals and objectives and also specific measures designed to achieve them.
Optical methods in non-contact velocity measurement
Šmíd, Petr
The paper presents an overview of some interesting methods using optical and sound waves for non-contact velocity measurements. The paper focuses mainly on optical techniques using different optical principles as interferometry, image analysis and processing, and speckle effect.
Optical sensor for measurement of an object In-plane translation and rotation by speckle correlation method
Horváth, P. ; Šmíd, Petr ; Hrabovský, M. ; Hamarová, I.
The paper presents design and experimental verification of an optical sensor for non-contact detection and quantitative evaluations of both in-plane translation and rotation of object’s surface by speckle correlation method. This sensor enables to detect both of the small deformation tensor components without change in geometrical parameters of the set-up and hence its conversion.
Bezkontaktní měření rychlosti pohybujícího se tělesa využitím korelace polí koherenční zrnitosti
Vašková, I. ; Šmíd, Petr ; Horváth, Pavel ; Hrabovský, Miroslav
This contribution contains description of a speckle pattern correlation method for detection of time-variable processes, especially measurement of moving object velocity. The introductory part is devoted to a general principle of the measurement method, then attention is focused on measurement of velocity of an aluminum object under investigation. A designed experimental setup is described and some of the achieved results are mentioned.
Non-contact measurement of specific elongation of the rubber specimen by means of properties of speckle correlation
Wagnerová, Petra ; Horváth, Pavel ; Šmíd, Petr ; Hrabovský, Miroslav
This paper presents the usage of speckle correlation for the measurement of specific elongation of rubber specimen.
Analysis of political culture in the Czech Republic
Šmíd, Petr ; Müller, Karel (advisor) ; Rohrbacher, Tomáš (referee)
The work is based on the definition of political culture and the evolution of political culture in the Czech society from the time of the Austrian Empire to the present. This analysis uses the concept of Gabriel Almond and Sydney Verba given in the book The Civic Culture. Author seeks to characterize its various features and tendences and the reasons for their emergence. The first part deals with the very concept of political culture and the difficulty of its precise definition and with the existence of various definitions and concepts. In the next part the author analyzes the gradual emergence of the individual features and their change in different periods of Czech history. After that are listed the various features of the current political culture of the Czech society. Author tries to answer the question whether the Czech political culture in its development hold certain trends and patterns of behavior and whether it is possible to expect changes in the development of political culture in the Czech Republic in the near future.
