Trigeneration and its use in practice
Čupera, Pavel ; Mastný, Petr (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
e master's thesis clarifies the concept of trigeneration and the principle of absorbing cooling. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of this method of manufacture cool with compressor cooling. It presents an overview of the implementation of a developing cold absorption and performance. Acquainted with the types of absorption chillers of the two leading suppliers, their characteristics and existing applications of these refrigeration units in operation in the Czech Republic and abroad. It also assesses the possibility of using these units in conjunction with a cogeneration unit powered by internal combustion engine. It follows from the economic assessment of costs and income of the absorption chillers and compressor chillers and on concrete examples and an assessment of the effectiveness of the various options.

Ageing evaluation of the heterogeneous weld joint based on instrumented indentation
Dlouhý, Ivo ; Hadraba, Hynek ; Stodola, M. ; Čupera, Pavel
Hardness measurement analyses are presented in the report being focused on base materials of heterogeneous weld joint and its simulated ageing. The change of the instrumented indentation/hardness data is analysed across the weld joint from low carbon steel to highly alloyed weld metal. Methodology for parameter computing of the material characteristics is also described based on data of instrumented indentation tests. The raw data have been supplied also to be available for further development of the methodology.
Strength, fracture and fatigue properties of materials and weld joints from feeder piping of water turbine
Dlouhý, Ivo ; Kruml, Tomáš ; Čupera, Pavel ; Chlup, Zdeněk ; Šiška, Filip
Sets of deformation, strength, fracture mechanical and fatigue properties of base materials and weld joints from feeder piping of water turbine is summarised in the report. There are data from 30 mm thick steel sheet and weld joint of this sheet with the casting part. R-curves have been also measured by loading - unloading method at room temperature and at 0°C. In addition tests of CT specimens in the upper shelf and transition region have been carried out with the aim to specify the lowest (conservative) value of the fracture toughness. Fatigue tests are reported too, mainly based on cyclic response curves and life time curves of the base material and heat affected zone of the weld joint between sheet materials.
Aging assessment of heterogeneous weld on the basis of instrumented indentation
Dlouhý, Ivo ; Hadraba, Hynek ; Stodola, M. ; Čupera, Pavel ; Al Khaddour, Samer
Sets of data for development of computing procedures of tensile loading curves from indentation curves have been summarised. The data obtained have been supplied also in digital form (tables) representing indentation curves for different loads by ball indentation technique and, in addition, tensile loading curves of the same microstructures obtained at room temperature. The paper focuses interest on the effect of simulated ageing on fracture behaviour of sub weld deposit regions, and, in addition, empirical analyses of indentation curves obtained from the interface between 22K low carbon steel and weld deposit.

Strenght, fracture and fatigue properties of base materials and weld joint of inflow piping to water turbine (PART I - Weld plate to plate)
Dlouhý, Ivo ; Kruml, Tomáš ; Čupera, Pavel ; Chlup, Zdeněk ; Šiška, Filip
Sets of strength, strain, fracture toughness and fatigue properties are summarised in the report characterising the base material, heat affected zones and weld joint material of steel used in water turbine system. Data obtained from 30 mm sheet materials and its weld joint are given. Tests have been carried out in agreement with recent standards and loading curves for finite element calculations have been also supplied. Crack resistance curves have been also generated by unloading technique at 0 and +20°C. Tests of compact tensions in transition regions enabling to determine reference temperature have been carried out. There are also data from fatigue tests, namely cyclic response and fatigue life curves, for the same materials.
