Attitudes of Czechs towards U.S. Foreign Policy and Role of America in the World - November 2012

71% of Czechs against 17% think that the U.S. in their foreign policy prioritize their own power and economic interests, and 44% against 40% believe that U.S. do not take into consideration the opinion of the world community. According to 22% of Czech citizens the current foreign policy of the U.S. represents a threat to today’s world, while 61% have the opposite opinion. Czech society is rather convinced that the United States in their foreign policy try to ensure stability and peace in the world (69% agree, 21% disagree) and that they stand up for the defence of freedom, democracy and human rights (66% say yes, 22% no). The opinion that in relation to undemocratic regimes the United States is entitled to use military force is shared by 25% of Czech citizens, whereas 59% oppose it. Since the last comparable survey in 2009 the evaluation of U.S. foreign policy and the role of the United States in the world improved significantly.

Czechs on U.S. Presidential Election - November 2012

More than two fifths (42%) of Czech citizens were at least partly interested in American presidential election. 50% of Czechs were satisfied with its outcome, 36% expressed an indifferent position that they are "neither satisfied nor dissatisfied" and only 4% said out their dissatisfaction with Barack Obama's victory.

Evaluation of Some Social Conditions - October 2012

In October 2012 Public Opinion Research Centre's survey investigated views of Czech citizens on some social conditions. From all specific social conditions included in the survey people evaluate mostly positively only the accessibility of education (71% positively, 23% critically) and the health care (58% : 40%). All other monitored areas of social conditions - i.e. a chance to get a flat (26% positively, 68% critically), financial situation to start a family with children (14% : 82%), social security for the elderly (9% : 87%), life conditions for the handicapped (15% : 73%) and a chance to get a job (18% : 80%) - are evaluated mostly critically.

Citizens on Economic Situation of Their Households - October 2012

In October survey Public Opinion Research Centre examined how Czech citizens see the financial situation of their households. They evaluated whether it is difficult to manage with their earnings, but also talked about attitudinal feeling of poverty. 5% of citizens indicated their household to be rich, whilst 38% consider it to be poor. 56% of respondents regard their household as neither rich nor poor. Problems with current budget of their household were stated by 69% of respondents, on the other hand 30% said they have no problems with budget of the household. 89% of households have income that is sufficient to purchase food, clothes or usual household goods, 47% have enough money for their hobbies and hobbies of their family members, 29% can afford to buy high quality (and more expensive) foodstuff, 30% can save some money and 23% can support household of their parents or children.

Citizens on Opportunities to Receive Education and Tuition Fees - September 2012

In September survey 59% of respondents expressed their opinion that everybody has a chance to get such education according to his or her abilities. Then respondents had to answer a question, what circumstances and various facts influence educational background. Respondents often suppose human abilities, diligence and desire for education to be important, when trying to get higher education. Only 21% of Czechs think that paying of tuition fees on the public universities should be introduced, 73% of citizens refuses this idea.
