The new nomenclatures motivated by the proper names of the native politicians

The title of my bachelor's work is Ihe new nomenclatures motivated by the proper names o f the native politicians. The main goal of this work is to give a notice on the creation of some new lexical units, which are motivated by the proper names of the native personalities active in politics. The main theme of my work is the role of the proper names in the creation of the new words and a comparison of these neologisms with the fromproper nomenclatures, which are written in published explanatory dictionaries so far. On the basis of those comparisons I am seeking to prove that from-proper names creation of the new words is in Czech language productive and common word-building process. The method of my research is a specific excerption of the daily press, where I am looking for the infiltrations of the neologisms, which are word-buildingly motivated by the proper names of the native politicians, to the present language. I am analyzing these neologisms from the word-building point of view, from the semantic point of view and I am focusing also on the using productivity of the given word-building types. 1 compare my research with the proper literature and I summarize that the neo-creation from proper names is significant and high productive language phenomenon, which is enriching present language word-stock with...

On Known and Unknown Names of Minerals

This article is focused on names of minerals. We analyzed lexical material of The Academic Dictionary of Contemporary Czech (Akademický slovník současné češtiny (ASSČ), first part: letter A) and of publication Nerostopis čili Mineralogia (Presl, 1837). We discuss the word formation, semantic motivation and naming process in group of names of minerals. The aim of the article is to present the structure of mineral name in the entry in ASSČ.

New lexical units in political publicism

Resumé Diplomová práce nese název Nové lexikální jevy v politické publicistice a klade si za cíl poukázat na novotvary, které se vyskytují v textech psané publicistiky. Hlavním tématem práce je slovotvorná a sémantická analýza neologismů a uplatňování slovotvorných prostředků, které se podílejí na vzniku nových slov v českém jazyce. Záměrem mé diplomové práce je prezentovat shromážděný lexikální materiál a dokladovat tak dynamiku lexika a kreativitu české slovotvorby. Pomocí představeného materiálu se v práci poukazuje na lexikální slovotvorná paradigmata jako celky, které mohou spoluutvářet mediální obraz konkrétních politiků. Upozorňuje se také na zvýšené užívání některých nových slovotvorných prostředků v oblasti kompozitního novotvoření a na jejich postupné zakotvování v české slovotvorbě. V neposlední řadě práce představuje šíři propriálních motivantů a možnosti jejich spojitelnosti s různými slovotvornými prostředky. Lexikální materiál pro analýzu nových jazykových jevů byl čerpán především ze současné psané publicistiky, neboť její jazyk a styl je velice proměnlivý a dynamický, v porovnání s jinými funkčními styly je mnohem více svázán se společenskými změnami a bezprostředně na ně reaguje. Dictionary Writing System: Output and Editorial Modules

This paper focuses on a dictionary writing system called Alexis that is currently under development at the Institute of the Czech language of the Czech Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic as part of a preparation of a new monolingual dictionary of the contemporary Czech language. At first, we explain motivation for development of a brand new DWS. We also discuss selected software technologies used for development of the DWS. Then we briefly describe structure of the system that consists of several modules that model key features of the dictionary such as lemma or list of entries. Special emphasis is put on output and editorial modules: we explain the relation between those modules, we demonstrate the process of correction of lemma and roles involved in the process. Finally, we present current status of development and planned new modules which include web interface or revision module.
