Health condition of of trees in natural monument Buky on Bouřňák
Wiedenová, Barbora ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Vachová, Jana (referee)
In the thesis I focused on observing the occurrence of wood-decaying fungi on tree species in natural monument Buky na Bouřňáku. Two areas of 100 x 100 m were mapped, each contained hundred trees of various kind, mostly beech (Fagus sylvatica). The introduction summarizes information about the location and describes occurring pathogenic fungi and their expanding, biotic and abiotic damage and state of beech crowns. Observation was conducted from April to November, starting with the precise inventory of trees and their marking. Each subsequent month, I observed changes on specific tree species, recorded them and photgraphed detected fungal specimens. Individual species of wood-decaying fungi are described in my thesis. In the field, apart from fungi, I also observed the consequence of biotic factors that were evident on trunks, branches or assimilation organs. For individual species of beech, I recorded the condition of trees based on defoliation of the crown. The most frequently occurring wood-decaying fungi in the whole natural monument was Stereum rugosum. This fungi continues to spread and causes decline of several beech trees. Nevertheless I think the beech forest should be left to its spontaneous development, because it is a small protected area, more correctly natural monument.
Sensitivity of Czech provenances of European common ash and narrow-leaved ash to invasive pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus
Kraus, Marek ; Pešková, Vítězslava (advisor) ; Čížková, Dana (referee)
This thesis deals with a survey of provenance areas and assessment of attacking Fraxinus excelsior L. and Fraxinus angustifolia by the pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. The aim of the thesis is to map the incidence of infected trees in these areas and to evaluate the sensitivity of the sites to the pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. The theoretical part deals with processing of data collected during field work on selected provenance areas Koneprusy and Veltruby. Amongst the evaluated parameters there were: trunk diameter at measuring height, tree height, and especially canopy drying caused by Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. As the outcome of the survey photographs were taken and records were collected for individual trees in the provenance areas. Each of the trees has its own unique label that has accurately defined its location to prevent potential errors in data processing. The processed data was then evaluated in NCSS 8.0 software and cluster analysis was performed in order to compare the provenances. This analysis only compares the provenances, which are located in both provenance areas. The results show that no provenance without the pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus attack appeared in the provenances Koneprusy and Veltruby. Subjects in 4 ŠLP Kostelec nad Černými Lesy - Svojšice and 24 LS Czech Krumlov Chvalšiny proved to be more resistant than others. Although the increase in the tree height and the trunk thickness is the largest on those areas the defoliation rate is high. It is probable that the population of these provenances will gradually die. Due to growing abbility of some individuals located in other provenances it is obvious that habitat conditions and individual resilience are key factors.
The incidence of biotic and abiotic damages of forest trees in the LHC Chřibská.
Friml, Vít ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Šrůtka, Petr (referee)
The goal of the thesis Occurrence of biotic and abiotic damages to forest trees in FMU Chřibská (Forest Management Unit Chřibská) is survey of aforementioned damages within forest properties owned by city of Chřibská in Northern Bohemia. The thesis includes list of damages from years 2007 - 2016 and performs study of possible causes of some of those damages.
Comparing health condition of the trees in the park Zámecký and the park Husovy sady.
Adamcova, Iveta ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Pešková, Vítězslava (referee)
the purpose is to summarize the historical events in the park until the present. Performs an inspection of the park, checking damage by both biotic (fungi, insects) and abiotic factors. At castlep ark will be performed inspection whether anything has changed since the previous investigation. On this basis, there will be in the end performed comparison of the state of health and occurrence of disturbances of individual parks. There will be valued the presence of pathogenic fungi, insect pests and abiotic damage. In all cases there will be done photographic documentation.
The health condition of trees in natural monument Modřanská rokle
Merkl, Tomáš ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Pešková, Vítězslava (referee)
This thesis deals with monitoring of the health condition of natural monuments Modřanská rokle. The aim of this study was mapping and evaluation of biotic and abiotic factors that influence the growth of local species. Subsequent to their description and evaluation with regard to on what tree species occurred. To what extent they also threaten of the woods in favorite place for walks and sports of Praguers. The research was conducted by repeated terrain errands during which those individuals were monitored which had external signs of damage. During survey were taken the photographs. Checking of the trees was carried out in the line transects along the creek Libušský. Followed by consultations and evaluation of collected materials and summarized in the conclusion. The field investigations were carried out from March 2015 until the end of February 2016. Harmful factors were identified and described according to photographs taken with the help of literature and Internet sources.
Wood decaying fungi in the natural forest in the southern part of Brdy.
Šourková, Zuzana ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Pešková, Vítězslava (referee)
The aim of my work was to determine the species diversity and frequency of wood decaying fungi in selected areas of natural forest in the southern part of Brd around Třemšín. The site I chose four different areas, where I was looking decaying fungi in the period from April to November. Further I describe the system of distribution mushrooms, splitting wood destroying fungi, concept tree disease, the importance of fungi in nature, spread of fungi. Described was also monitored site. Finally, work has formed an overview of wood decaying fungi found on those areas with their frequency of occurrence. Total found 39 kinds of wood decaying fungi from different families. Found wood decaying fungi were photographed and then described.
Health condi on of the oaks on the dams selected ponds in the Třeboň
Rutová, Věra ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Bohuslav (referee)
The subject of this final work is focused to find out oak embankment vegetation state of health on the banks of selected Trebonsko lakes , specifically Opatovice lake, Rozumberk lake, Stary Vdovec lake, Velka Tisa lake and Vysehrad lake , regard to the leaves of tree tops, mechanical damages and occurrence of pathogenic fungus (galls). Results were compared with growth condition published in previous final reports from years between 1995 and 1999. All conclusions from those years were drawn from the research study of Charles´ University and Czech Agricultural University staffers in cooperation with MZP, CHKO Trebonsko, Treeproject Ceske Budejovice, National Fishing Company Trebon and Mikrochema Ceske Budejovice. The goal of that project was integrated protection of broadleaf woody plants, directed to reduce impact of harmful biotic agents. Particularly, originators of trichomycosis diseases in the South Bohemia region. All data needed to finalize the bachelor thesis were collected from May till October 2015. Documentation stock photos and images of embankments, vegetation and single oak trees and their damages or presence of pathogenic fungus (galls) was created at the same time in 2015. Results of this research were summarized in comparative charts and tables. In conclusion, I could make a statement of oak growth health improvement and highlighted weaknesses of each individual growth.
Problems with pathogenic fungi in the park Stromovka
Kubištová, Pavla ; Čížková, Dana (advisor) ; Šrůtka, Petr (referee)
The thesis describes characteristics of the study area, Královská obora, where the investigation was carried out in the field. It also engages in the description of the studied trees, wood-decaying fungi and damage of trees that occurs and causes problems here, in Stromovka, especially in the most visited areas of the park. Various injuries are a common cause of infection of pathogenic fungi that threatens a stability of trees and hence a safety of the park visitors. Health assessment conducted in location in the park Stromovka, which are problematic due to the occurrence of wood-decaying fungi. The locations were placed at the Planetarium, for the track and along the track. It was focused on the occurrence Meripilus giganteus on beeches, whom they are in the park problems with, particularly on heavily visited sites. 663 trees were inspected in total. The statistical analysis showed that most of the damages of trees in the park Stromovka was dry branches (12 % of the total trees ), probably it was as a result of above-average temperatures in 2015. Only 3 % of the total number of inspected trees were infected by wood decaying fungi. Most of the trees were infected by Inonotus cuticularis (23 % of the total number of found wood-destroying fungi). Meripilus giganteus caused 14 % of the total number of found wood-destroying fungi dameges on the trees in the area. The infestation by pathogenic fungi was not significant on the inspected trees, it could be caused by above average temperatures and below-average rainfall in 2015. At the same time their presence was influent by a felling of trees in studied area from November 2014 to the end of March 2015. It was decided on the basis of dendrological research, that the identified riskiest trees infested by fungi and dying trees with disrupted stabilitye.
