Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Eucalyptus Volatile Oil in View of Thermodynamic Modelling.
Sovová, Helena ; Stateva, R.P. ; Topiař, Martin
The aim of this contribution is to determine this relationship in the case of eucalyptus oil. The oil from the leaves of Eucalyptus grandis L., which was selected for experiments, is rich in a monoterpene alfa-pinene, a monoterpene oxide 1,8-cineole, a sesquiterpene aromadendrene, and a sesquiterpene alcohol globulol. The composition of saturated vapour phase in volatile oil+CO2 system was measured by sampling the extract from either milled dry leaves or essential oil on inert carrier, using a sufficiently large solvent residence time. Gas chromatography was used to analyse the composition of the samples, leaves, and essential oil. The extraction pressure and temperature were varied in the region of scCO2 with relatively low density, where the solvent selectivity is more pronounced. The experimental results were used to determine the temperature dependence of the parameters of thermodynamic model for the studied system.

Co3O4 Supported on Different Supports for N2O Decomposition.
Klyushina, A. ; Pacultová, K. ; Jirátová, Květa ; Obalová, L.
In this work Co3O4 catalysts supported on different kind of shaped supports (rings, quadrulobes) were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation method. As support materials commercial supports made of MgAl oxides, Al2O3 and TiO2 were used. The catalysts were characterized by AAS, XRD, Raman, FTIR, SEM, H2-TPR and nitrogen adsorption methods and tested for nitrous oxide decomposition.

Simple Equipment for Measurement of Total Pressure Tested on Poly(ethylene glycol) + Water System.
Pavlíček, Jan ; Bogdanić, Grozdana ; Wichterle, Ivan
In this work, new equipment designed for total pressure determination in mixtures where one of component is not volatile, such as polymer + solvent systems, is presented. It enables measurement of pressure above solutions in a wider concentration range. The equipment has been tested and calibrated using vapour pressure of pure water. It consist of thermostat with temperature measurement (AΣΛ, model F250), 100 ml vessel for solution with magnetic stirrer with a very strong driver, and of heated manifold for charging, degassing and for pressure measurement. Pressure is measured with use of absolute heated capacitance unit MKS Baratron (pressure range 1000 Torr = 133 kPa). Mixtures were prepared by weighing to obtain volume of 50 ml, approx.
