Bachelor thesis Comparison of the United Kingdom policy towards the Palestinian question in 1936-1939 and 1945-1948 compares the policy of the United Kingdom to Palestine in the periods defined by years 1936-1939 and 1945-1948. It focuses on the differences between the compared periods and analyses their causes. It is questioning what were the reasons which led the British government to adopt the different policies in these periods. The opening chapter is a brief historical introduction to the history of the British Mandate of Palestine. It also presents the politics of London to Palestine in 1936-1939 and 1945-1948. The second chapter compares the conditions in which the British approach was shaped. The third chapter is a comparison of the interests of the United Kingdom, which could influence the policy of London to the Palestinian question.

Great Britain and the Near East during the Great War analyses the promises of the United Kingdom to Arabs and Jews from the First World War contained in the McMahon Letters and in the Balfour Declaration relating in particular to the territory of the Middle East. It focuses on the circumstances of the formation of these documents, both on the contemporary conditions and the objectives to be achieved by them. It also deals with the wording of these documents and the contents of the British promises, while questioning whether it would be possible to realize them simultaneously or they were excluding each other. The opening chapter presents the situation of the Ottoman Empire, Arab nationalism, Zionism, and the empire of the United Kingdom until the beginning of the First World War. The second chapter explains the British interest that influenced the formulation of these documents. The third chapter discusses the emergence of the McMahon Letters and the Balfour Declaration and examine their contents.

United Kingdom and the Israeli-Palestine Peace Process

The diploma thesis United Kingdom and the Israeli-Palestine peace process is focused on British foreign policy towards the situation in Israel/Palestine and the ongoing peace process between 1997 and 2001. It addresses the main assumptions for the approach of the Tony Blair's government and their fulfilling. It is based on the analysis of speeches and documents issued by the Labour Party or by the government of the United Kingdom, on which it at first defines the assumptions about the activities of the United Kingdom on the international level, which it understands as commitments towards British and the electorate. Further, it presents the major steps made towards the situation in Israel/Palestine, as well as the long-term motives of Tony Blair government's approach to this area, which can be seen in speeches and other materials. It then examines whether the policy towards the Israeli-Palestine peace process matched the outlined assumptions and expectations. Subsequently, it deals with the causes of the found differences and discusses the importance of this topic for the government of Tony Blair and its possibilities get more involved in these issues.
