Archives of the town Staré Sedliště

The essence of this work is a composition of the little town's Staré Sedliště history since its first written remark till 1945 in some cases till more recent time period. Prime sources were employed especially from regional literature and some archival funds placed at the State district Archives Tachov and the National Archives. Owners of the manor, their mansion house as well as their contribution to the development of the town are described in full details. This work is also rich in portrayals of town's dwellers day-to-day life, their livelihood, trade and craft, and overall economy situation in the town with accent to the manufacturing concerns and breweries. Town history is inherently tied with municipality development and principal representatives such as portreeves, mayors, councillors and others. By virtue of information registered in school chronicles it succeeded to involve the development of education system in Staré Sedliště, most of teachers' names, list of local school board members and number of pupils. This work is completed by the description of an archival file treatment of Archives of the town Staré Sedliště and the creation of an inventory for the archival file. AND KEY WORDS This dissertation specializes in history of Staré Sedliště from first written record in 1177 to 1945, when the structure of inhabitants and their culture changed. This essay extracts from the sources the central and regional form that are stored in the National Archive in Prague, in the Departmental Archive in Pilsen and in the State District Archive Tachov with regard to account regional literature, monographs, and lexicons. In this work are described in detail the manor owners and their influence on the development history of the town Staré Sedliště, the castle library, the building of the manor, manor brewery and burgess, churchly administration and church, and further school and teachers who worked in the Staré Sedliště, commerce and crafts, property owners, descriptions of the town and its nearby from the perspective of a stable military and cadastral mapping. In the synoptical tables and other annexes are mentioned the chief representatives of municipal and ecclesiastical administration, the numbers of school age children attending the school in the Staré Sedliště, craftpersons of 17th and 18th century presented in the octroi gneiss and the Theresian cadaster, home owners with land size, yields of 19th century, and home owners with their trades or businesses of 20th century....
