Nonprofit sector and its Potential for Regional Development through Local action groups

The aim of the thesis is an analysis of the non-profit sector and its potential for regional development through the local action groups which is the Chance in Nature acting on the territory of South Bohemia. It is an evaluation of the 2007-2013 programming period. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to NGOs, social capital, partnership and regional development. The empirical part describes a region of the Local Action Group (LAG) and its functioning, further was examined the involvement of NGOs in the activities of the local action group considering a cooperation, partnership, submitting project applications and overall involvement in the activities of the LAG. Data were obtained by document analysis, interview surveys, and semi-structured interviews. NGO activity has been explored from the manager and LAG members' perspective and NGOs themselves.

Cooperation between Government and civil Sector - Community Planning of Social Services in the Pelhřimovsko Area

The thesis is focusing on cooperation between public and civil sectors, mainly on the area of social services development planning. In the theoretical part, general information about both sectors and their relationships is presented. The community planning method is described more deeply in the thesis, being promoted as one of the methods of cross-sector cooperation. The research part is based on a qualitative research. It deals with actual cooperation of non-profit and public organisations in the area of social services development in Pelhřimovsko area and how this cooperation is appraised by the representatives from both sectors. The main goal of the thesis is to describe cross-sector cooperation in social services in Pelhřimovsko area and to find more ways to increase its quality and effectiveness.
The Case Study: The Reflection of the Civic Sector Organizations in Chomutovské noviny between 2006-2008

The communication with the public is really important for the existence and work of the civil sector organizations. The reason is that the public includes possible users of products and services, backers, donators and associates. One of the possible channels how to communicate and keep up with the public is promotion and presentation in the media. Chomutovské noviny is a printed matter that is run by the local administrative body. This type of media should give the opportunity to as many local organizations as possible. The study is aimed at selected civil sector organizations within one particular period. The results of this study show that the presentation of the civil sector organizations was not too numerous in Chomutovské noviny. The possible reasons arise from the interviews.
