The family farm and its position in rural areas: Past and Present.
Fellnerová, Petra ; Hniličková, Helena (advisor) ; Zuzana, Zuzana (referee)
Family farms have irreplaceable place in the history of our society. The aim of this thesis was to find out how the selected family farms in rural areas have changed their position in the course of historical development. The thesis also supplements the theoretical knowledge of family farms. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part contains a review of literature related to the rural areas, agriculture and family farms. The research is based on interviews with the owners of selected family farms. The acquired information is supplemented with data from the survey, which took place in the context of sales events organized by family farms. Respondents answered questions about their relationship to a particular family farm and expressed opinions on the family farm in general. The thesis confirmed the stated hypotheses that family farms have a stable position in rural areas, are actively involved in the protection of nature and landscape and their activities are positively perceived by the public. It has not confirmed the hypothesis that the owners of family farms reflect the improvement in the status of family farms in rural areas now than in the past.
