Community leisure time centre for young people
Sapozhnikova, Irina ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the architectural design of the Community Leisure Center for youth in the historic part of the city of Vyškov. The center is conceived as multi-purpose and tries to connect spaces for leisure time, relaxation, physical and emotional rest, independent work, education or workshops in order to best meet the needs and expectations of the residents. My project offers young people a place where they can discover their potential, realize their interests and simply a place where they can always just enjoy their leisure time. A comfortable and attractive modern architectural space can serve as an incentive to visit it and develop the cultural level of the young generation. The proposed site is located in close proximity to the castle complex, within the boundaries of the Municipal heritage zones. Therefore, this is a proposal for the construction of a new building in a historical environment.

A new life for the factory = a new life for Portlaw
Kvášová, Lucie ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the reconversion of the former tannery site in Portlaw, Ireland, with a history dating back to the 19th century. Situated in close proximity to the town center, the facility holds significant potential for further utilization. Following its closure, the site remained neglected for a considerable period, now perceived with mixed feelings – as a place with a rich industrial heritage of which Portlaw residents are proud, yet also as a location bearing the negative impacts of past industrial activities on the environment. Strategically located in the valley along the Clodiagh River, the site was established with a canal for water transportation. Its position along the city's gateway enables seamless integration into the urban fabric. Its secluded nature shields it from the eyes of city dwellers, minimizing disruptions to the surrounding environment, making it an ideal venue for activities even with higher levels of noise and lighting. The objective of the proposal is to revive the site and its "genius loci," aiming to achieve a high level of destination attractiveness for both Waterford County residents and tourists. The plan entails the creation of a multifunctional space, new public areas, and greenery cultivation, positively influencing the overall character of the area. The reconversion plan introduces diverse functions, transforming the site into a vibrant and adaptable hub for local residents and visitors alike.
A new life for the factory = a new life for Portlaw
Galusková, Hana ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Master´s thesis describes the revitalization of a former cotton factory site and later tannery. The abandoned factory building, the chimney, the former engine room, the canal, and other secondary buildings are uncontrollably absorbed by nature. The place has an exceptional charm thanks to the contrast of raw materials and the amount of greenery, but the lack of maintenance of individual structures shortens their lifespan. The main idea of the design is the conservation of the preserved objects of the factory, support of historical values, and preservation of nature in a man-made space. The proposal describes the creation of a multi-purpose area that creates employment opportunities, a form of recreation and public space for the residents of Portlaw, as well as an attraction within the region and for tourism. The functional content is a botanical garden with an exterior and interior part, a public space with a market, small spaces for rent, a food court, accommodation, and areas with hydroponics. Each functional unit works independently, and at the same time, complements each other - grown products from hydroponics are sold at the market, visitors to the botanical garden use accommodation, and people who rent spaces visit the food court. The goal was to bring new life to the factory and thus revive the town of Portlaw. The functional content of the entire area uplifts the history as well as the current state of the place.

In the study, we solve the central square of the town Ivančice extent: Palacky square, Comenius Square and surrounding areas of the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with a part of Mill Street. The basic principle of the proposal is to create a bright urbanized area with a clearly organized traffic and movement of pedestrians. Over time, the square was filled with a variety of often inconsistent or improper furniture, greenery and other solitaires, which, in combination with parking across the surface of the square and double necks impairment of the main urban area. The main aim of the project I had solve the traffic situation, cleansing and unification of Square and finally to incorporate revive nearby parish church. The proposal defines the space Palacky Square following the original historical rectangle plan approaching and divides it into three parts: The first part is a central rectangular area, which blended currently fragmented space. This empty space showcases a Baroque plague column and the fountain with the statue of St. Florian. As a counterweight to the plague column and the fountain is in the opposite half of the rectangle designed water feature in the form of three water jets, which creates a water column of a time his height. Water features does not make the water and in the case of holding larger events it is possible to turn off the water element and thereby clear the entire area of central rectangle. Water feature highlights the main entrance to the church. The central rectangular space will be used as the venue for cultural, sporting and market activities. The second part is operating within the traffic lane pedestrian zones defined lighting and street furniture around the perimeter of serving in a restricted mode for supply. The third part of the irregular portion adjacent to the home life partners defined various commercial activities. Within Comenius Square was left a greater number of parking spaces, but that was přeřešeno such a way as to create wider sidewalks along the larger home and a new expansion bays for seating and meeting and commercial purposes neighboring establishments catering zařízení.4 Almost all surfaces are vertically aligned and newly paved granite chipped tiles (using the existing historic paving). The central rectangular space in the newly paved square cut granite blocks stacked into large squares.
