Creating a simulation model of the access network
Formánek, Juraj ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
Thesis deals with generating and monitoring traffic in the GNS 3 simulation tool. The properties of the GNS 3 simulator are defined, including its capabilities for simulating/emulating components. Emphasis is placed on using only open-source tools. After analyzing the capabilities of GNS 3, a suitable traffic generator is found, which is preceded by practical testing of multiple generators. After finding the generator, monitoring tools are practically tested, with Zabbix emerging as the best from the tests. It was linked with the visualization tool Grafana through Zabbix plugin. Part of the work consists of automation, managed by Zabbix along with bash/Python scripts. The thesis evaluates the use of GNS 3 and explores its capabilities, possibilities, and limitations in the area of traffic monitoring and generation. The result is the creation of an access network with one router and two containers that generate and send traffic through this router. Everything is monitored by Zabbix and useful results are displayed in Grafana.
Remote fiber optic polarization sensors in special environments
Baláž, Dominik ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the propagation of light in optical fibers using two polarization planes and to assess current polarization sensors. Emphasis is placed on the remote powering of polarization sensors in special environments. The main contribution of this work is the design of the functional arrangement of the optical fiber components to enable efficient use of the sensors in special environments, with emphasis on the detection of changes in non-electrical quantities. The results of the work confirm that the sensors provide a high degree of reliability in harsh environments and so are ideal for application in special environments, being suitable for detection over longer distances along with the possibility of use in military and chemical environments.
Measurement of polarized light properties on the dense wavelength division multiplexing in optical-fiber sensor systems
Bučko, Kristián ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The polarization of light is one of the most remarkable phenomena in nature and has led to many discoveries in the optical-telecommunications sphere. The master's thesis describes the basic knowledge about polarized light, which includes the types of light polarization, the issue of Poincaré sphere, polarizing ellipse, etc. Emphasis is also placed on the measurement of optical power, where the analysis of various types of photodetectors and also polarimeters was performed. In the practical part of this work, the design of the workplace itself is described in the diagrams. Also, all devices in the workplace are analyzed and subsequently demonstrated measurement in several scenarios. The final chapter is a discussion with the measured results and graphical dependencies, comparison and analysis of results.
Quality of services and experience qualify for next generation networks
Vaněk, Jiří ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The thesis sums up the traffic parameters for the evaluation of next-generation access networks. There are mentioned parameters for service quality management and parameters for measuring the quality of experience. The EU regulation on High Speed Internet in the Czech Republic is analyzed. The practical part compares the results between the implementation of the quality management of services and without implementation. Also there is comparing theoretical and practical transmission rates of physical ports. Part of the thesis is a questionnaire focused on the quality of experience of the video sequence.
Topology for next generation access networks
Kovář, Adam ; Sládok, Ondřej (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
This thesis consists of basic requirements, application of optical fibres and final simulation of this network in specific location. This template shows ideal construction of optical fibre network for this specific location and also displays expected price of building this kind of network. In this thesis will be described this location and its problematic parts which can have critical impact on building of this network. As a part of design of this network we chose optical fibre and technology for protection of optical fibres. All of these items are collected and we can see approximate price. This thesis shows how the customer will be connected to network and also to this thesis is attached the map which shows exact position of the network. Simulation will prove networks stability and shows delay which can occur during using basic and expected applications on network.
Application of Management Control System in JEDNOTA, spotřební družstvo v Boskovicích
Grénar, David ; Lžičař, František (referee) ; Žižlavský, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the use of controlling in the company JEDNOTA, consumer cooperative in Boskovice. Specifically, this thesis focuses on planning and analysis of variances. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the theoretical knowledge about controlling and planning. In the second part of the thesis, the analyzed company is presented. In the third part, the thesis deals with the analysis of the current situation and the last part proposes possible solutions, which should lead to improvement of the current state.
Coverage of signal - remote regionn
Grenar, David ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
Because the Czech Republic has been specific geographically rugged terrain. We could find a many places without a voice and data coverage. This place with worst signal coverage have sometime only the GSM technology, but this technology does not have high quality for calling inside building. The operators which are owner of GSM networks they don't care about how to make better coverage. The investment is more expensive than the profit of service. In 2012 was prepared auction of frequency for new LTE technology. In one of point was written that operators must start with building the networks at place with worst signal coverage, but in 2013 this point is missing. In thesis we will basically from our theoretical technological experience trying found out a solution of coverage in remote region. Our solution trying found out a best way between economic a technological transmission demand, between metallic, optical and wireless transmission medium. Next part is interest about compare properties, technical parameter and economics of building a type of network. Final step is building a real network distribution in chosen region.
Measurement of qualitative parameters in the access network
Kejík, Tomáš ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The theme of this bachelor’s thesis is „Measuring of qualitative parameters in an access network.“ The aim of this paper is a characterization of multimedia broadcasts in access networks and the creation of a functional network generator. The theoretical part of the paper is dedicated to analyzing key broadcasting parameters, which affect the resulting quality of network broadcast. Furthermore, used network protocols that are given for network and multimedia broadcast are analyzed. Simulation is done by using of GNS3 software. After that, transferred data were measured. Side effects affecting the functionality of the resulting transmission were subsequently analyzed. Another part of the paper is the practical part, which is focused on creation of a network generator by using the Bash language and making a script to facilitate turning on the generator for different counts of clients. At the end of the paper, the broadcast parameters were evaluated.
Mobile application for the analysis of the basic parameters of NGA network
Musil, Aleš ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on measurement of quality of service within mobile networks. The thesis explains standards of mobile networks, quality of service, how achieve specified quality and measurement method. Then thesis explains server program for measuring multimedia data and mobile application for operating system Android, which can evaluate and show measured data. In the end there is shown measurement of testing data.
Measurement and Monitoring Performance Parameters of Next Generation Networks
Grenar, David ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Róka,, Rastislav (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
The thesis is concentrated on the topic of next generation access networks. In the thesis, first of all, is conducted the analysis of the current state of knowledge with special focus on current technical and legislative developments and trends in access networks. The thesis describes the current structure of access networks and analyzes the current state of the issue of access technology. Measurement and testing methods for its verification depending on the type of network or operation of IP services are also described. Subsequently, the dissertation presents mathematical methods, that can be used in order to assess the access network model. In addition, recommendations and methods for monitoring and modelling access network data are evaluated. In particular, the subject of interest in this thesis is the issue of traffic intensity. The thesis presents a proposal for the construction of a mathematical modelling for the traffic profile and its application.
