Use of supportive measures in pupils with visual impairment

This diploma thesis covers the pupils with visual impairment who are school educated through the supportive measures of varying degrees. Firstly, it describes the essential concepts related to the topic. The first chapter introduces visual functions and their most common disorders, plus visual disorders in childhood which can be encountered in education. In following chapters, the definition and classification of terms used in the Catalogue of support measures in the Czech Republic is introduced and defined. The main terms covered are visual impairment and impaired visual perception and the education specifics are described for each groups of pupils according to the severity of visual impairment. This thesis also contains detailed analysis of support areas and each supportive measure designed for pupils in need of support in education due to the visual impairment and impaired visual perception. In the second part of practical study, research goals and questions are defined. From medical and other relevant reports of special pedagogical centre the qualitative research analysis had been conducted. This bachelor thesis deals with communication needs from the perspective of patients/clients with visual impairment. Communication is a skill we use in all areas of life. This communication is very important in the relationship between medical staff and patients because it helps us to discover certain information that is essential for us and thus also ensures a correct treatment procedure or good nursing care. The aim of this thesis was to find out which communication aspects are crucial from the point of view of patients/clients with visual impairment, how they perceive communication between them and healthcare professionals and what are the positive and negative aspects in this communication. The respondents who participated in this study were divided into three groups, according to the organization or care home these respondents came from. The total number of respondents was 27, their median age was 67. The selection of these respondents was not intentional, the patients/clients who participated in this survey, were interested in this topic. The role of optical function and its influence to the posture

This bachelor thesis deals with the optical function as one of the multisensory modalities in postural control. The theoretical part concerns the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the visual system and their relationship to postural functions. It also includes a further indefinite weakening of neurophysiological principles, influencing other sensory perceptions and motor manifestations with the visually impaired, who belong to group with reduced postural control. The work describes the examination methods and training options for visual perception and its impact on postural control. These applications are applied in the practical sections in the case report of visually impaired patients, in whom the influence of the individual examination unit on postural function was investigated. For the assessment were used the Rehawalk pressure platform and the clinical test of dynamic postural stability Star-Excoursion Balance Test.
Influence of light touch on postural balance of persons with visual impairment

The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the influence of the sensory adaptation on postural balance of persons between 10 - 20 years old. The measurement of postural balance on stabilometric desc without visual control in postural situations in different difficulty with and without light touch. For this study 10 blind probands and 10 probands without visual impairment are tested. We expect that blind ones will show better results in all of tested COP parameters in all postural situations than control group because of sensory adaptation. Title of bachelor thesis: The Role of Occupational Therapy in Work with Blind People Abstract of bachelor thesis: This bachelor's thesis is concerned with methods of occupational therapy and their work with blind people. The first aim of this thesis is to find the role of occupational therapy in work with adult blind people in the field of self-sufficiency. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The first one describes anatomy and physiology of vision, division of visual impairments and their most frequent causes, occupational therapist's intervention in the field of self-sufficiency, cognitive function, assessment of the environment and in the field of employment. The practical part contains five case studies of blind clients which describes case history, occupational therapist assessment, assessment of self- sufficiency and then plan of therapy. The partial aim is to make promotional material which could be used for promotion occupational therapist's work with blind people. ICT technology as a medium of education for children with multiple disabilities, includint the visual impaired

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out the importance of ICT as a means for the education of pupils with combined disabilities with dominant visual disabilities. It can be said that the importance of ICT in the education of people with disabilities is higher than that of the intact population, because people with disabilities can use ICT as a compensatory aid when they are able to compensate for some disadvantages due to disability Individual. In order to ascertain the importance of ICT as a means of education of disabled people, a research was carried out between pedagogical staff teaching people with disabilities in special schools or special classes of elementary schools. The high importance of ICT in the education of pupils with disabilities was confirmed by both the research and the search of specialized literature. Comprehensive rehabilitation of people with visual disabilities

The diploma thesis on the topic of Comprehensive rehabilitation of people with visual impairment gives an overview of the possibilities and importance of comprehensive rehabilitation for this target group. In the introductory part of my work I will focus on the definition of vision, visual impairment and comprehensive rehabilitation for people with visual impairment and possibilities of social services. In the final part there are interviews conducted by clients and staff of provided focused services of social rehabilitation. The aim of the thesis is to describe the psychosocial issue of a person with visual impairment and to give an overview of the possibilities and importance of comprehensive rehabilitation for this target group.
