Political values and value orientations in an intergenerational comparison of generations X and Y

The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of political values within the intergenerational comparison of generation X and generation Y. It is divided into three sections. In the first section, it introduces the reader to the theoretical concepts of generations, values and the shift of values across generations. Within the framework of generations, it deals with their definition and subsequently also with the issue of defining individual generations. Then it focuses on defining generation X and generation Y. As for values, it pays attention to politics as a value and then defines the concepts of freedom, equality, justice and participation. It also focuses on value orientations in politics and how political culture affects politics in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, it deals with the shift in the values of generations, where it also presents current knowledge in the researched area. In the second part, it presents the methodology of the research, which is carried out using a quantitative method as a secondary analysis of EVS data from 1999 and 2017. Research questions, hypotheses are presented here, and the work with the data is described. In the third part, it introduces the reader to the results of the analysis and answers the research questions.

Analysis of the Czech Philharmonic in terms of strategic communication

This thesis analyses strategic communication of the Czech Philharmonic. It provides an overview of the orchestra's historical developments with respect to changes of its chief conductors and describes its current internal and external communication strategy. The thesis examines internal communication within the Czech Philharmonic, subsequent integration of certain departments into its organizational structure and the way content is communicated to the public. It offers, therefore, a comprehensive insight into the internal and external communication of an institution of classical music. The methodology includes data collection through semi-structured in-depth interviews with executives of the Czech Philharmonic, as well as a marketing mix 4P. The research contains an analysis of three concert seasons in terms of dramaturgy and an analysis of the communication tools used by the Czech Philharmonic such as social networks, digital media and visual identity. A questionnaire survey examines how the use of communication tools impacts listeners' decisions, their perception of the way the Czech Philharmonic communicates and the impact on concert attendance. Management of a selected professional basketball club in the Czech Republic

Title: Management of a selected professional basketball club in the Czech Republic Objectives: The main objective of the bachelor thesis is to analyze internally a selected professional basketball club and to reveal the key points that have an impact on the club's management. Then, to elaborate on this to make recommendations for the club to effectively improve its leadership. Methods: The research included an analysis of the internal environment according to the McKinsey 7S framework. Secondary and primary data were used to compile the analysis. Primary data were obtained from semi-structured interviews. Based on this information, recommendations were made on what the club should improve for its future operations. Results: Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that the club has a well-set structure and shared values. From the interviews conducted, it was found that all employees in the club are familiar with the same values in the club and that everyone knows what position they hold and who they report to. The lack of technology used in communication and very low development of employees' job skills were identified as a problem. The club does not provide any form of self-development for its employees. Students' successfulness and strategies when working with a map and factors affecting them

Nowadays, information is increasingly presented in the form of various graphic materials. One of the key means of information visualisation is a map. Maps are complex representations and it is necessary to comprehend several cartographic concepts and to acquire skills and strategies for their efficient use. For this reason, it is important to give maps sufficient attention in the course of education. For the education to be of high quality, it is fundamental to understand the process of the map use and factors affecting this process and its successfulness. Therefore, the general purpose of the dissertation thesis is to develop this understanding. Specifically, the thesis has four main aims. One of them is to identify a map skill level of Czech students while using thematic maps since the popularity of thematic maps is increasing together with the number of cartographic insufficiencies they contain. These insufficiencies can inter alia cause a formation of misconceptions both about the maps and phenomena and regions they display. Investigation of Game Strategies and Behavior of Virtual Game Players

The bachelor thesis deals with the design and creation of three games for two players and the subsequent analysis of the optimal strategies of these games, which are implemented in the virtual meta version Neos. The search for the optimal strategy is first carried out theoretically using game theory and then experimentally, by monitoring the virtual players playing these games. The strategies that players choose in these games are mainly monitored. The selected strategies are then recorded and the results are processed and compared with the results obtained using game theory. Part of the bachelor thesis is also a detailed description of creating games and calculating optimal strategies.

Strategies for providing care within a selected endoscopic procedure

The diploma thesis deals with a strategy of providing care within the framework of a colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure. The aim of this thesis is to find out what information is provided by the nurses to the patients during a colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure, what communication techniques are used by the nurses within the framework of reducing the fear at the patients and what expectations the patients have from the nurses before the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure. Six research questions were established, which surveyed what information is provided by the nurses to the patients during the procedure, what communication techniques are used by the nurses within the framework of reducing the fear at the patients and what expectation the patients have from the nurses. Furthermore, they surveyed what kinds of problem have both the nurses and patients to solve and how the nurses secure the patients´ intimacy within the framework of the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure. In the theoretical part, the thesis is focused on the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system, progress of endoscopic devices, on endoscopy procedures and nursing process within the framework of the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure. And at last but not least, the security of the patient´s intimacy and a role of a nurse - communicator within the framework of the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure. To achieve the aim, the qualitative method of research construction was used with a method of an interview, face-to-face technique at the patients undergoing the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure and at the nurses providing these patients with nursing care. The research construction was supplemented with the nurses´ observation. The results from the obtained data led to the conclusion that the nurses ensure the patients´ intimacy properly, use the communication techniques for reducing the fear efficiently, provide the patients with information concerning the endoscopy procedure and that they rarely experienced any problems. Furthermore, the research construction revealed that a varied part of the patients never experienced any problems and their positive expectation from the nurses was fulfilled. The results of the research construction will be offered to the employees of the endoscopy department where the research was performed as a feedback for the approach to the patients within the framework of the colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure.

Deterrence in counter-terrorism: the case of Nigeria

To assess the effectiveness of deterrence measures, we adopt data from the Global Terrorism Index (GTI). The GTI provides comprehensive assessments of trends and patterns of terrorism across different regions and countries and offers a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of counter- terrorism strategies. Our analysis will evaluate the impact of deterrence measures on reducing terrorist activities in Nigeria and identify the key factors that contribute to the success or failure of deterrence. This study's findings will be of significant interest to policymakers, security experts, and the broader Counter-terrorism has been a critical issue in Nigeria over the last decade, with terrorist groups such as Boko Haram posing a significant threat to the country's security and stability. In response, the Nigerian government has implemented various strategies, including deterrence, to combat this menace. Deterrence refers to the use of measures aimed at discouraging potential terrorists from engaging in violent activities. The Performance Evaluation of the Company Using Balanced Scorecard

The master´s thesis is focused on the evaluation of the current state and business performance of the selected company NC Line, a.s. using the Balanced Scorecard concept. The theoretical part of the thesis will define the concept of company business performance and its measurement using various methodologies and then discuss the concept of the Balanced Scorecard method in more detail. In the analytical part, the selected enterprise will be introduced, its current situation will be described by performing some analyses and then the thesis will continue with the findings in relation to the application and implementation of the Balanced Scorecard method. In the last part of the thesis, recommendations resulting from the overall work and suggestions for improving the performance of the company in the following period will be given.
