Strain-Stress analysis of pig femur
Legerský, Radek ; Valášek, Jiří (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the strain-stress analyses of the pig femoral bone in physiological and pathological condition. Pathological condition is determined by a significant defect in diaphysis of the bone fixed by using direct angular stable locking plate with screws. The thesis describes the creation of computational models with special focus on bone tissues models of material, which are based on analysis of digital images from computed tomography (CT). There are created and analyzed three types of computational models: the first one corresponds to physiological condition of femur, the second one to femur with significant defect and fixation plate and the third one to femur with significant defect, fixation plate and rod. Every model is loaded in three ways: the first of them simulating the experimental conditions of pressure testing of the femur, the second one bone stress in the sagittal plane and the third one stress by using load determined from probational release of the pig hind limb. Strain-stress states are determined by finite element method using Ansys computational system. Gained results of stress and strain are compared with experimental measurements. The thesis presents a basic idea of the mechanical behavior of porcine femur and porcine femur with significant bone defect.

The effect of Bisphenol S on porcine oocyte meiotic maturation
Effect of pergafast 201 on selected markers of in vitro maturation of porcine oocytes.
Procházková, Bára ; Petr, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Benc, Michal (referee)
Pergafast 201 (N-(p-Toluenesulfonyl)-N'-(3-p-toluenesulfonyloxyphenyl)urea) is a patented color developer that is offered as an alternative to the widely used bisphenols A and S (BPA, BPS). These substances have been shown to have a negative effect on human health and reproduction even in very low doses, and they are endocrine disruptors affecting, among other things, the process of meiotic maturation. The effects of pergafast 201 on the mammalian organism during oogenesis have not yet been monitored. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of pergafast 201 on selected specific markers of meiotic maturation after exposure of porcine oocytes to pergafast 201 in low concentrations in vitro. This work is the first to describe the negative effects of pergafast 201 on the maturation of porcine oocytes in vitro, confirming the negative effect of pergafast on the course of meiotic maturation and on the ability of the oocyte to reach the final stage of maturation, as well as its effect on the increased incidence of abnormal dividing spindles. The data show the effect of PF201 on the methylation of epigenetic markers H3K4me2 and H3K9me3. Preliminary results also indicate its effect on the mRNA expression of estrogen receptors α and β. Collectively, these results indicate the possible risks...

Vyhodnocení ukazatelů výkrmnosti v chovu prasat
ROHÁČEK, Daniel
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate fattening parameters and carcass value of pigs at a particular agriculture company. Parameters of fattening were monitored in terms of farms, i.e., farm N (84 fattening cycles) and farm M (93 fattening cycles) and in terms of year, i.e., the years 2018-2020. The initial live weight of pigs in the farm N was 24.8 kg, in the farm M was 23.0 kg (p < 0.05). The final live weight in the farm N was 115.2 kg. However, in the farm M the final live weight was higher, namely 117.3 kg (p < 0.05). The average daily gain in the farm N was 979 g, but in the farm M was 10 g lower. Feed mixture consumption per 1 kg of weight gain was almost identical in both farms. In the farm N the feed consumption was 2.34 kg and in the farm M was 2.33 kg. Feed mixture consumption per day in the farm N was 2.29 kg, in the farm M was 2.25 kg (p < 0.05). The mortality in the farm N was 1.57%. However, mortality in the farm M was higher, namely 1.99% (p < 0.05). Total of 2 498 carcasses from the farm N and 2 771 carcasses from the farm M were used for evaluation of the carcass value. Subsequently, the average carcass weight in the farm N was determined at 88.5 kg with 58,1% proportion of lean meat. The average carcass weight in the farm M was 93.2 kg with 57,7% proportion of lean meat (p < 0.05). Most of the carcasses from both farms were ranked in the grading class E (farm N - 71.0%, farm M - 71.7%). 17,7% of carcasses from the farm N and 14.2% carcasses from the farm M were classified in class S. Finally, most of the carcasses from the farm N were classified in the weight category 80-89.9 kg and in the case of the farm M the most carcasses were classified in the weight category 90-99.9 kg.
Štítná žláza prasat
ŠTĚCHOVÁ, Petra
Thyroid gland is very important endocrine organ that interferes with a number of processes in the body. Sufficient iodine saturation of animals is essential for optimal production of thyroid hormones. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to determine iodine supply of slaughter pigs and morphometric parameters of thyroid glands in selected individuals. The study included 27 castrated hybrids of Czech landrace and Pietrain. Iodine content in urine was determined using the Sandell - Kolthoff spectrophotometric method. Thyroid parameters were determined microscopically: length, width, outer and inner area of the follicles and thyrocyte height. The representation of individual size categories of follicles was also determined. The average content of urinary iodine in the observed group was 350.8+-184.3 ug/l, the maximum was 608 ug/l and the minimum was 76 ug/l. Optimally saturated with iodine was 44.44 % of individuals, 11.11 % had a deficiency and 44.44 % an excess of iodine. The average length of the thyroid follicle was 149.3+-64.8 um, width 105.9+-50.6 um, outer area 16810.6+-18030.0 um2, inner area 14318.4+-16985.2 um2 and thyrocyte height 6.2+-2.6 um. In the thyroid glands was 9.4 % small, 62.8 % medium and 27.8 % large follicles. In the selected group of individuals, the impact of different iodine saturation of animals on all monitored thyroid parameters was demonstrated.
