The role of the social worker in adoption

The goal of thesis was to acquaint the reader with the adotion proces. I described in work forms of substitute family care, roles of the social worker in the adoption proces. In the first part I specified the meaning of substitue family care and what it involves. In the second part I meantioned the roles of the social workers in this proces. The third part is about the network of services. In the last part you can find, how the adoption proces ganges in the Czech Republic.
Foster parents exceptations and their fulfilled visions

The diploma thesis " Foster parents expectations and their fulfilled visions " deals with expert training, which is provided by the organization Dobrá rodina, and also determines the quality of services provided when the family accepts the child. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of adoption, its legal basis and expert training. It further defines the differences between biological and adoptive parenting and the specifics of homoparental families. It explains the main concepts associated with adoption, such as child identity, trauma or attachment issues. It specifies a support network for adopters and focuses on two organizations, Dobrá rodina and Středisko náhradní rodinné péče. The practical part is based on semi-structured interviews with parents who have undergone training in the organization Dobrá rodina and currently live with their adopted child/children. The work goal is to find out how the expert training changes their mindset and thinking about foster care, which services are provided to them and what kinds of support they need. Research has shown that proper expert training often changes parents' expectations and their general mindset about foster care. Law and needs of adoptive parents and problemtic areas in the process of adoption

Bachelor thesis deals with the adoption system issue in Czech Republic. It focuses primarily on the rights and needs of adopters in the adoption process and problematic parts of the adoption system. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part defines the basic terms and legal regulations of adoption and chronologically describes the process of adoption from the decision making for adoption through the submission of application form, expert assessment of applicants, completion of preparation and psychological testing to the period of waiting for the child and the period after adoption. In the methodological part is defined the conducted qualitative research, in which were interviewed various participants of the adoption process: social workers, NGO workers and adoptive parents. Results of the research are then interpreted in the last, analytical part. There were defined many problematical parts and they permeate all phases of adoption process. As significant problems can be considered lack of clarity in the motivation of applicants while entering into the adoption process, lack of credibility of social workers caused by the negative media image, the trend of increasing age of the applicants, inconsistent methodic and quality level of mandatory preparation, lack of finance and...
