The protection of the environment in land-use proceedings
Růžičková, Kateřina ; Fabšíková, Tereza (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
The protection of the environment in land-use proceedings Abstract This master thesis deals with the issue of environmental protection in land-use proceedings. The topic of environmental protection is currently much discussed in the European Union and harmonisation tendencies also strongly influence the regulation of construction law. Environmental protection in land-use proceedings corresponds to the main principles governing environmental issues - the principles of prevention and precaution. Detailed assessment of projects before their execution eliminates possible negative impacts of these projects on the environment. The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the fragmented legal regulation of environmental protection in the context of land-use decision-making in the Czech Republic and to make it clearer. The thesis is not only limited to the current legislation, but is also focused on the changes brought about by the adoption of the new Construction Act, which is due to come into definitive force on 1 January 2024. Although after this date the proceedings before the construction authorities will no longer be divided into land-use proceedings and construction proceedings, as these proceedings will be combined into a single proceeding, the need for environmental protection, as well as the methods of its...

The Evolution of Civilian Protection in UN Peace Missions
Šillerová, Anna ; Pulgret, Miroslav (advisor) ; Makariusová, Radana (referee)
Diploma thesis examines the evolution of the protection of civilians in UN peacekeeping operations. To approach the topic comprehensively, the theoretical part covers the history of the protection of civilians and its normative framework, as well as the conceptualization of UN peacekeeping operations. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze the changes in the approach to the protection of civilians across three generations of UN peacekeeping operations and to identify the key moments of this evolution. It also traces the role of failures in UN peacekeeping operations, the reasons for these failures, and their impact on the mandates of subsequent missions. Mapping the evolution of the protection of civilians relies on the analysis of resolutions and other UN documents, as well as three case studies of key peacekeeping operations: ONUC in Congo, UPROFOR in Bosnia- Herzegovina, and UNAMID in Darfur, Sudan. Missions with a mandate to protect civilians, as a new phenomenon of third-generation peace operations, are also analyzed. Prevailing trends and possible limitations of these mandates are also discussed.

Application Firewall Anomaly Detection
Pospěch, Jan ; Homoliak, Ivan (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of the presented bachelor thesis is to describe the process of anomaly detection in application firewalls. The thesis focuses on the principles and basics of anomaly detection, the reader is introduced to the techniques and methods of machine learning. The process of analyzing the requests and responses received from the web application protection system is described, and the system design is developed. The practical part describes the implementation of the system and testing on real datasets. Decision tree and Random forest algorithms show the best results with f1-score 0.9987. Among the unsupervised learning methods, the best results are shown by Autoencoder with an f1-score value of 0.8315.

Evolution of the genus Malus with a particular reference to old and local cultivars
Polcar, Václav ; Urfus, Tomáš (advisor) ; Macková, Lenka (referee)
The following work deals with the genus Malus in terms of the significant diversity that this genus represents. It summarizes a basic knowledge about the taxonomic position and world centers of the genus evolution. Part of the thesis also discussed reproductive mechanisms as a source of the genus diversity. The thesis then focuses on the species Malus domestica, its evolution and the hybrid origin. In this context, old varieties of apple trees, their significance and pomologically important regions of the Czech Republic are presented. An integral part of this work is also devoted to the protection of old varieties, its limits and possibilities. The protection of old varieties also encompasses the extensive orchard as an important agroecosystem. Finally, different Czech regions are compared with respect to the quantity of reported old varieties.

Knowledge of a selected group of the population in the Karlovy Vary region about behavior during emergencies
Ernestová, Agnes ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The content of this thesis deals with emergency situations and behavior during their occurrence. The main objective was to investigate the awareness of the population of the Karlovy Vary region regarding behavior during emergency situations. This knowledge was verified by a questionnaire survey, which also tested the theoretical knowledge of the population in this field. Based on the results obtained from the questionnaire, a proposal for a possible two-hour seminar was created to supplement the missing knowledge and strengthen the existing one. The theoretical part is focused on the definition of an emergency event and its classification according to the method of occurrence. The issue of civilian protection is also addressed, including the evacuation of civilians, warning of the population, evacuation bags, and improvised means of protection. The reader will also learn what a crisis situation is and how to distinguish between its types. The basic components of the integrated rescue system and their tasks are listed here as well. The last chapter covers selected emergency events and recommendations on how to behave during them. The practical part is devoted to the research survey itself. The results were evaluated from 142 questionnaires from residents of the Karlovy Vary region. The condition for...
