The main goal of the diploma thesis is to propose new innovative solutions leading to the improvement of the company's information system as well as the implementation of new solutions and innovations, in order to maximize the turn-over and market value of the company. The theoretical part is focused on the definition and characteristics of the development of the solved issue, including units dealing with information systems, analysis of information systems and database systems themselves. The subject of my own work is the characteristic of Zawmark Plus, the analy-sis of the internal and external environment of the company, financial analysis, analysis of the company's information system and its components, evaluation of analyzes and concepts of the proposals themselves for the improvement of the information system. Suggestions for IS improvement based on analyzes can be used and implemented in other companies with a similar business model. In its own part, the possible complications associated with the implementa-tion of new proposals are summarized. The conclusion itself contains a summary of the whole scope of the issue and information on the benefits resulting from the implementation of new refinements.
Moving from Find & Get and Towards Use & Understanding

Considering the ubiquitous nature of networked computers, the traditional role of libraries is not as critical as it used to be. In other words, the time-honored library activities of collection, organization, preservation, and dissemination of books & journals is quickly being supplanted by the ever-present Google search. Thus, the problem to solve is less about finding & getting information but rather about using & understanding the information found. We continue to drink from the proverbial firehose. This does not foretell the demise of libraries nor librarians. Instead, it represents an opportunity to provide enhanced and value-added services above and beyond our collections. These services can be articulated as action statements such as but not limited to: analyze; annotate; cite; cluster & classify; compare & contrast; confirm; count & tabulate words, phrases, and ideas; delete; discuss, evaluate; find opposite; find similar; graph & visualize; learn from; plot on a map; plot on a timeline; purchase, rate; read at a distance; read closely; read at scale; review; save; share; summarize; tag; trace idea; transform; etc. This presentation elaborates upon these ideas with an emphasis on the possibilities of natural language processing & text mining in libraries.

Impact of ICT on organization changes

This diploma thesis deals with question about real impact of information and communication technology on current organizations and what is a real benefit of using information and communication technologies (ICT) for organizations and their surroundings. Thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical one. In the first part, there is theoretical base for problematic about organization and ICT and their mutual relations. At the end of this part I tried to summarize the impact of ICT on organization and society, according to obtained material, collected information and logic. In the second part there is presented an organization department of selected company without typical ICT support. Based on process analysis taking place in this unit, there is list of identified information needs of this processes and how they are met. Finally I will try to recommend some solutions to improve the current situation.
Methodologies of information processes management - Implementation of ISO 20 000

The text is considering methodologies of information processes management in MSP and is highlighting problems that can arise in this segment. The work consists of theoretical outputs as well as experience from planning the implementation of ISO 20000 in a small Business Intelligence company. In the first part of this work are methodologies put in general frame of informatics management (IT Governance) and is discussed their purpose and impacts of standardization of management processes to which their use is leading. The main attention is paid to ITIL and ISO 20000 and their mutual relationship. In both methodologies is apprised suitability for segment MSP. In scope of the practical part are defined conditions that need to be fulfilled in order to achieve successful implementation of ISO 20000 in MSP. The main output of this part is concrete methodology of implementation of ISO 20000 in a small company.
