Boris Titzl, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The submitted thesis focuses on the phenomenon of child abuse and neglect. The theoretical background for these issues had to be found in the science branches which have so far made the contribution to the explanation of the child abuse and neglect. Medicine (mainly traumatology) explains the mechanism of physical abuse, psychiatric- psychological approach not only enhances the topic with the psychical abuse and neglect, but also offers a backup to a non-moralizing explanation why abusing persons behave in such way. Sociological and ethological approach helps to understand the contextual factors which could foster the child abuse and neglect. The social work point of view is used to introduce the system of care of the abused children. Special pedagogy part of this thesis approaches the situation and education of the abused children mainly from the ethopedical point of view and reflects specific questions of institutional education. Lucie Myšková Most children in institutional care have their families and are in contact with them, but for various reasons these children grow up in a familycan not. We know from scientific works, that there is usually a cold atmosphere, weak interest in children, or violence in these families. But children placed in institutional care positive express of parents, practice show and it is known, that children, who do not live with their parents, idealize them. Children selected in the study were in development of the older school age, which is characterized among other critical look at adults. The work is based on the above-mentioned ambivalence and focuses on the mental representation of parents ofolder school children placed in institutional care. The theme is monitored by using several methods (questionnaire, drawing, interview, determining polarities). TITLE: Perception and coping with the specific learning disabilities impacts on everyday life of children with this diagnosis. ABSTRACT This text is focused on recognition of impacts of the specific learning disabilities on everyday life as the children with this diagnosis themselves see it and the strategies used by these children in order to cope with these disabilities. The theoretical part summarizes the necessary knowledge of the early school age developmental stage, the interaction of a child with the family, and briefly the stress and the coping. The results of previous mothers of specific learning disabilities diagnosed children research are also presented. The empirical part is based on semi-structured interviews with six children diagnosed with the specific learning disabilities attending fourth or fifth grade of primary school. Based on it's qualitative analysis, the thesis attempts to clarify how the specific learning disabilities diagnosed children perceive and experience the impacts of this disabilities on them and how do they cope with it. Factors influencing the attitude of Czech parents towards selected vaccine-preventable infectious diseases

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the attitude of parents towards selected infectious diseases which are preventable by vaccines in the Czech Republic. The primary focus is on parents' opinions on vaccination against invasive diseases caused by meningococci, haemophili and pneumococci. The theoretical part discusses the issue of vaccination, its importance and organizational structure; it further describes the selected pathogens, the diseases they cause and the epidemiological situation. It also considers the factors that may lead many parents to distrust and be critical of vaccination. The main aim of the practical part is to find out by means of an online questionnaire which social, geo-demographic, economic and other factors influence the choice of parents to have their children vaccinated against the given bacteria. Statistical methods of χ2 -independence test and binary logistic regression have been used to evaluate the data obtained from the questionnaire with the help of the SPSS program. Factors influencing the successful inclusion of Children from Children's Homes into the independent Life

The Diploma Thesis deals with the topic of Factors influencing the unsuccessful inclusion of children from children's homes into their independent life. At the theoretical level existing knowledge concerning institutional education are summarized as well as the knowledge about factors influencing the integration process of children from children's homes into their independent life. The work aims to find and to name the factors which according to the opinion of children themselves caused them to be unsuccessful in the entering of the independent life. Another aim of the fork is to find out whether it is possible to propose any recommendations leading to elimination of the factors. The aims of the work were achieved through a qualitative research survey in which seven children told their life story. They left Children's home Dolní Počernice more than a year ago. At the same time their entry into the independent life could be qualified as unsuccessful according to the chosen criteria. This bachelor thesis "Protection of personal rights of a child in media" deals with protection of personal rights of a child in media. Media publish information about children all the time, but that is not always the right thing to do. A child has a special position in Czech legal system, it is important to have in mind best interest of the children that you write about as a journalist. This thesis defines the most important terms that are important to understand the whole bachelor thesis. The main goal of this thesis is to present legal background related to protection of personal right with a focused-on child's personal rights. It observes not only civil law that is the main source of personal rights protection, but also on criminal law and media law as well. The analysis focuses on Czech case-law in relation to media covering children in their articles. The case-law is really critical of some of the private information that journalists publish about a child's private life. Therefore, it is important to point out what are the boundaries that journalist shouldn't cross when they write or report on children's private lives. Intercountry adoption Abstract The theme of this masters thesis is legal regulation of intercountry adoption. This area of law is current and very severe, because it results in permanent status change for number of people, when one of them is a child, for which it is necessary to provide special protection. Although intercountry adoption can be in certain cases the best solution for particular child, this type of child care brings many risks, for example intercountry abduction or child trafficking. Due to these reasons, it is necessary to correctly to set rules for realisation of intercountry adoption to minimalise these risks, follow the best interest of the child and at the same time to apply this type of child care in a subsidiary way, therefore in case there is not possible to find appropriate family for certain child in its state of origin. The goal of my masters thesis is complex introduction of legal matters of intercountry adoption. The thesis is divided into five chapters, which are further divided into subsections. The first chapter focuses on development of adoption in general, its development from roman law roots to its current regulation in the civil code.
