Literary Critic F. V. Krejčí in Rozhledy Review
Pečenková, Aneta ; Merhaut, Luboš (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The topic of this master thesis is F. V. Krejci's literary criticism. It analyses not only his approach to literary criticism as presented in his major as well as minor texts, but also his own output in the Rozhledy revue, presumably the best representative of modern literary-critical tendencies of the 1890s. The Rozhledy revue and F. V. Krejci's literary- critical output (including his monographs) both help us understand the literature of the second half of 19th century with its diversities as well as the way how the young generation of literary critics used to form their methodological aspects. The body of this master thesis is created by the complete and annotated bibliography of F. V. Krejci's texts published in Rozhledy. The research was based on both - the detailed study and analysis of the main sources and the author bibliography provided by the Institute of Czech Literature AS CR. In Rozhledy, F. V. Krejci published various political and literary articles. He also reviewed a few books. In his reviews, he usually wrote a non-detailed foreword and introduction. After that, he commented on a few aspects of the particular book. There are four topics he was interested about the reviewed masterpiece and that is its plot, message, overall meaning and its social impact. He also published some...

Bartochová, Lucie ; Flaišman, Jiří (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)

The main focus of the thesis is on the description of Mladá kultura as a profiled students' magazine, to which the core part of the future Orten-Bednář generation (Kamil Bednář, Jiří Daniel, Jiří Orten, Josef Lederer, Ivan Blatný) contributed. Then the thesis focuses on the description of single volumes of Mladá kultura to depict the development and analyse the magazine's belletristic and journalistic contributions. In the subsequent part the thesis tries to depict the transfiguration and disposal of ideology of the authors' poems portrayed on the examples of single authors' poems from Mladá kultura and Jarní almanach básnický 1940, which we consider the first collective attempt of this generation. Bibliography of the review Proměny (Metamorphoses) from 1964 to 1979.
Valtrová, Martina ; Holý, Jiří (advisor) ; Merhaut, Luboš (referee)
ABSCTRACT The present thesis deals with the magazine Proměny, quarterly of The Society for Science and Arts, mapping the first seven years of its existence (1964-1970), i.e. the period under the editorship of Ladislav Radimský. The original plan was to create an annotated bibliography for the first fifteen volumes; however, it became obvious during the research that the amount of the material would largely exceed the length of a bachelor thesis. The commentary focuses on the years 1964-1970 as well; nevertheless, it also briefly outlines the whole time span of the magazine's publication as well as the whole existence of The Society for Science and Arts. The thesis analyzes Proměny in the light of the historical and cultural context, comparing it with other exile journals. The main part of the thesis is the annotated bibliography, accompanied with the author and subject indexes.
