Ning, Zixi ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Chondrogiannis, Ilias (referee) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
Tento článek zkoumá determinanty nesplácených úvěrů (NPL) napříč 52 komerčními bankami v 11 zemích střední a východní Evropy (CEE), včetně Bulharska, Chorvatska, České republiky, Estonska, Maďarska, Lotyšska, Litvy, Polska, Rumunska, Slovenska, a Slovinsko, v období od roku 2007 do roku 2022. Studie využívá statické i dynamické panelové analýzy dat, využívající fixní efekty, náhodné efekty, jednokrokový systém zobecněné metody momentů (GMM) a dvoukrokové systémové modely GMM k vyhodnocení vliv makroekonomických faktorů a faktorů specifických pro banky na úvěry v selhání. Zjištění ukazují, že růst HDP, míra nezaměstnanosti, indexy cen akcií, návratnost aktiv a rezervy na ztráty z úvěrů významně ovlivňují ukazatele nesplácených úvěrů. Studie zdůvodňuje existující literaturu a zároveň přináší nové poznatky o řízení rizik spojených s nesplácenými úvěry.
Use of fuzzy logic for banking risk assessment
Maňková, Veronika ; Bobalová, Martina (referee) ; Janková, Zuzana (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the use of fuzzy logic in the banking sector for credit risk assessment. The determination of a client's creditworthiness involves the evaluation of both financial and non-financial indicators. The paper further describes the use of the MATLAB tool for the development and implementation of this model. The resulting model allows banks to better understand credit risk and enables them to make more informed lending decisions.

Tor, Michael ; Pečená, Magda (advisor) ; Petrásek, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to examine a potential financial performance link between the European banking sector and Environmental, Social, and Gov- ernance (ESG) performance scores. Previous research has shown conflicting results, from a positive correlation to a negative link suggesting sustainable strategies to bear a burden on banks. This analysis uses panel data regres- sions on a dataset of European banks to find a short-term relationship between dimensions of ESG and financial performance metrics ROA and ROE. This thesis provides an important contribution to the literature by using the latest available data in the research, influenced by the COVID-19 crisis. The analy- sis finds a negative correlation between Environmental performance scores and Bank performance while showing no significant relationships for other dimen- sions of ESG. This negative correlation was found to be even more substantial in the Southern Europe region when examining regions of Europe and bank size differences thoroughly. It defines the indi-vidual concepts related to education, methods of education and also includes the characte-ristics of the banking sector of the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, corporate education, its individual phases and their sub-parts are detailed. The second half of the bachelor thesis is the research part. This was conducted during 2023 and the results were then compared with the CVTS questionnaire survey. This survey is carried out by Eurostat with a regular five-year periodicity in the countries of the European Union, which includes the Czech Republic. It has been participating in this survey since 2000. The most up-to-date data are from 2015, as the Covid-19 pandemic is set to hit the world in 2020. Inspired by the CVTS survey, a questionnaire of its own was created, looking at the methods currently used in training, the forms of training or what further courses the employees themselves would like to take and where they feel there is room for improvement. The questionnaire also included questions on the fi-nancing of training, which is a very important item in banks' budgets and an investment in their future. Finally, further training progress was recommended based on the needs of banking sector employees and a future outlook was given in which the whole current training system could be rapidly transformed by aug-mented or virtual reality.
