
Edge detection and representation in point clouds

This thesis discusses edge detection and representation in point clouds. For the detection of edge points was used clustering of normals. The RANSAC method is used to represent the line edges. Within the work, the edge points of one model are also interspersed with a circle using the least squares method and projective space. All methods were implemented in MATLAB and tested on real data obtained on the ATOS CompactScan 2M scanner.


Statistical Model Checking of Approximate Computing Systems

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the simulation of models of approximate multipliers. The main aim of the thesis is comparing selected properties of multipliers in an applicationspecific scope of input values. The thesis includes the conversion of multiplier models from the EvoApproxLib library into models used in the UPPAAL environment. These models are then simulated while monitoring their selected evaluation metrics such as error probability, mean absolute error, etc. From the obtained results, one can conclude that using a suitable approximate multiplier in a specific context can have a positive effect on the error in calculations. The results could therefore have further applications in the field of approximate computing systems.


Laboratory task dedicated to filters with switched capacitors

This semestral thesis deals with the issue of analog frequency filters, their division and voltage transmission characteristics of filters. Furthermore, this work is focused on the description of filters operating on the basis of switched capacitances. This work also includes simulations, which are the first draft of a laboratory preparation for teaching. The simulations were performed in the Orcad Pspice program

 

Tunable ARC frequency filter

This bachelor thesis deals with ARC frequency tunable filters. The introductory chapter generally focuses on the basic terms of the frequency filters, such as the mathematical expression of the transfer function, types of selective filters, tolerant field, etc. The next section describes the actual higherorder ARC filters and cascade sequencing, especially ARC band reject and possibilities of its implementation. Following is a concrete realization of the ARC filter to band reject with suggestions for tuning the frequency components in the frequency range 10 kHz to 100 kHz and retuning quality factor. Finally, this work contains the printed circuit board (PCB) design of the ARC frequency analog and digital filter section for tuning F0 frequency and quality factor Q setting using digital potentiometers. Furthermore, it also outlines the flowchart of the program for digital control.


Numerical analysis of selected silicate based composites shrinkage

The thesis is divided into two main parts. In the first theoretical part is described the problems of shrinking including a comparison of Czech standard and Model Code 2010, Vol. 1. The second practical part of the master`s thesis is focused on the numerical analysis shrinkage primarily on the initial stage of this process. The experimentally obtained data are set approximations of the relative deformation using ShrCeC. Subsequently the numerical simulation of shrinkage of selected silicate specimens using a computer applications SpatiDist and FyDiK 2D. The real test specimens are modelled as twocomponent composite consisting of cement paste and aggregates. The result is a parametric study takes into account the influence of type and size of grain aggregate.


WebBased Demo of Fourier Transform for Signal Processing Courses

The aim of this work is to create a program demonstrating the Fourier transform. The introductory section summarizes the theory of Fourier transform and shows the procedure for its numerical approximation. The following chapter describes the existing applets. Subsequently, the concept of the demonstration and its implementation are described. The final part contains tutorial examples of using the application and summary of users' reactions.


Evolutionary Design for Circuit Approximation

In recent years, there has been a strong need for the design of integrated circuits showing low power consumption. It is possible to create intentionally approximate circuits which don't fully implement the specified logic behaviour, but exhibit improvements in term of area, delay and power consumption. These circuits can be used in many error resilient applications, especially in signal and image processing, computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning. This work describes an evolutionary approach to approximate design of arithmetic circuits and other more complex systems. This text presents a parallel calculation of a fitness function. The proposed method accelerated evaluation of 8bit approximate multiplier 170 times in comparison with the common version. Evolved approximate circuits were used in different types of edge detectors.


Interpolating and approximating spline curves

This bachelor’s thesis deals with properties and algorithms of smooth curves calculation, specifically the calculation of Bspline curves. These curves can be applied in computer graphics. Since their calculation is defined recurrently, it is almost a necessity to use computers with programmed algorithms to obtain these curves. As for the practical part of this work, three programs for the calculation of approximating Bspline curves, interpolating Bspline curves and NURBS curves were created.


Measuring of Vehicle Instant Velocity

The theoretical part of this paper summarizes the methods for motion analysis in an image. Inspected in detail are the methods used for motion detection in the image sequences. The practical part is focused on finding the significant points in the image (the targeting reticles on the body of the vehicle) which are then used to calculate the speed of the vehicle.
