This thesis primarily deals with the influence of traditions and values on the status of women in the labour market and in education in Kazakhstan. It finds out whether there is an influence of traditions and values in society and, in case of existence of that influence, identifies its strength and group of the women that it affects the most. This work is based on different official statistical data and research that was made on the sample of population of women in Kazakhstan aged 18–60 years. According to the results of the survey, traditions and values mostly affect the older generation of women and women living in villages. The influence of traditions and values on gender inequality in the labour market was also proven. Gender discrimination minifies itself primarily as wage discrimination and the inaccessibility of women to managerial positions. On the other side, the negative influence of tradition and values on women’s degree of education was disproved. In general, we can say that current women in Kazakhstan have now better opportunities in the labour market and education.

Christmas in Children's Home

The bachelor thesis deals with Christmas in children's homes. The theoretical part introduces the children's homes in more detail and also takes into account the factors that influence the experience of a child who is placed in institutional care. It also describes the traditions, holidays and symbols that are part of Advent and Christmas in the Czech Republic. The research part was developed through semi-structured interviews with staff of children's homes. The aim was to find out the following: What specific traditions do children's homes observe? How does the staff communicate with the children about the existence of Christ Child? Is there increased contact with the family? Whether children go home for Christmas? What is the course of Christmas Eve? What organizations provide gifts to the orphanages? It appears that the teaching staff make an effort to ensure that the children are not deprived of anything during Advent and Christmas. In the children's homes, various traditions are observed, the homes are decorated and presents are brought, as in the most families, by Christ Child. The only difference is when the festive dinner takes place. Due to some children going home, Christmas is celebrated 2 times. Gifts to the orphanages are provided by many organizations, but also by individuals. The work is beneficial to a wide range of readers and offers a partially different perspective on the celebration of holidays that most people experience within the family circle.

Folklore ensemble Doudlebánek in the years 1982 -2022

This final work is devoted to efforts to restore and maintain folk traditions and customs in the village Doudleby. The work consists of four consecutive chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the establishment of the village and its history. The second captures attempts to restore traditions and customs typical of this village. The third is dedicated to one of the oldest folklore ensembles, the Doudleban National Ensemble. The fourth chapter records the children's ensemble Doudlebánek, which is the future for the preservation of folk customs and traditions.

Christian Holidays and their meaning in education

The bachelor's thesis "Perception of the meaning of Christian holidays and traditions through the eyes of elementary school students" deals with the topic of celebrating Christian holidays and traditions. The work deals with the significance of holidays as such for culture and society. Thesis mainly focused on the Christmas holidays, which were the subject of my research. I set out two research questions for my bachelor's thesis. Are customs and traditions maintained in families these days? Does the perception of traditions and customs change with the age of the child? The research problem was solved with primary school students in Záhoří. The research was conducted on the basis of anonymous questionnaires. From the analysis of the questionnaires, children's awareness of traditions related to the Christmas holidays and observance of rituals and customs in families was mapped.

Musical rituals in alternatives kindergartens

ABCTRACT The diploma thesis focuses on seven alternative educational systems in the Czech kindergartens environment in connection with music and musical rituals. The thesis describes the key features of these alternative kindergartens. The theoretical part of the work focuses primarily on the concept of music and musical rituals that are implemented in the given alternatives. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis was to find out and describe these rituals from the available literature regarding the given alternatives. Qualitative research was conducted using a questionnaire survey method among teachers working in the respective kindergartens. The practical part of the thesis presents specific rituals that are implemented in alternative kindergartens. The conclusion of the research describes the contents of musical rituals and presents their sources. The Story of Czech Immigrants in USA and their Legacy from the End of the 19th Century to Present: The Identity and Everyday Life of a Small Town in Minnesota

The aim of this thesis is to describe the fates, sorrows and joys of Czech peasants (and their descendants) who decided to emigrate to the USA between the second half of the 19th century and the First World War, where they left a legacy that persists to these days. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the general history and knowledge of the emigration of Czechs to the USA, its causes and course. Using collected letters, pamphlets and archival records, it then attempts to reconstruct the journeys of emigrants from Bohemia to their new home across the ocean. The work then describes the various problems that the compatriots had to deal with immediately after landing in the United States, on their way to find available land or to build their homes. The thesis also depicts the efforts to create expatriate communities and societies along with the traditions that Czech immigrants brought with them. The second part focuses on a specific town in Minnesota, but also mentions nearby settlements and towns whose names attest to the Czech origins of their founders. The work focuses on the history of New Prague and its surroundings, associations and traditions that are connected to Czech cultural heritage and still play an important role in maintaining the Czech-American identity of the local population. With the help of the informations from local residents, the thesis seeks to capture and then analyse their perception of their Czech origins and their efforts to maintain awareness of Czech culture and language. Finally, the thesis will focus on specific events and festivals in and around New Prague that serve as evidence of the continuing awareness of Czech culture among Americans.

Folk traditions and customs and their use in creative activities of primary school children

The bachelor´s thesis called "The Folk traditions and customs and their use in creative activities of primary school children" deals with a scope for using folk traditions in primary school children creative activities within an after school childcare. The thesis has been divided into two key parts, theoretical part and research. The aim of the thesis is to describe traditions and use them as a main topic for creative activities for primary school children. In the theoretical part key terms are defined, the terms as spare time, primary school age, creativity and traditions. Subsequent theoretical part of the thesis characterizes particular traditions and their description. The worksheets for children are made in the first part of the research. They contain creative activities methodology, which are used by leisure educators. The research should take place in the after school childcare. Unfortunately activities could be realized with a small group of children in their spare time. The thesis encompasses information from the fields of pedagogy, psychology, creativity and traditions.
