Their main task is to ensure the payment of health services in the form of health insurance. The objective of the work was to analyze the development of health insurance companies in the Czech Republic with a focus on the costs of medicinal products (MP) and medical devices (MD) dispensed on medical prescription in the years 2018-2020. Methodology: Data on health insurance companies' economy were obtained from the annual reports for the years 2018-2020, which health insurance companies publish on their websites. Data on the total costs of selected health services related to prescription of MP and MD and expenses for MP and MD dispensed on prescription issued by health service providers were processed. For the possibility of comparison, the data were converted to one insured person. The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on meeting the objectives of the EU's Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 in the Czech Republic and Austria

This Master's Thesis investigates the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 in Austria and Czechia, with a focus on the strategy's goals of freedom from violence and stereotypes, thriving in a gender-equal economy, and equal leadership throughout society. The research adopts Sylvia Walby's theory of gender regimes to provide context, which highlights the role of the state in shaping gender equality outcomes. Austria and Czechia are identified as social democratic and neoliberal gender regimes, respectively. This mixed-methods study employs thematic analysis and comparative case study and combines qualitative data gathered through ethnographic methods and quantitative data from open statistics. The thesis finds that Czechia operates as a neoliberal gender regime, with a limited role of the state in supporting women at risk of gender-based violence. In contrast, Austria's social democratic gender regime has provided robust support during the pandemic, with a centralized system of shelters and a state-wide 24/7 women's helpline. Comparison of the media analysis of the Karlovy Vary International film Festival and the Jihlava Internationa Documentary Film Festival (Ji.hlava) in regional and nationwide media

This thesis analyzes the media coverage of select festivals in national and regional press, primarily aiming to create a comprehensive understanding of how the media handle information about the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival. The study examines the amount of media coverage received by the festivals, as well as the topics and themes associated with them. The thesis employs a combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis methods, which are developed through coding. The theoretical section provides a historical overview of the festivals' origins, introducing the select festivals within the context of Czech and world cinema and their broader social significance. The thesis also addresses the marketing of cultural events and the promotion of cultural activities. The second half of the thesis focuses on research methodology, its development, implementation, and data interpretation. The thesis includes an appendix with the coding book and accompanying materials, which were created based on the analysis data.
The issue of admission to secondary schools and multi-year gymnasiums

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of unified entrance examination to secondary schools and multi-year grammar schools in the Czech Republic. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of basic terms related to the unified entrance examination as well as the definition of curriculum for individual thematic units for the primary and lower secondary education (first and second stages of basic education). The practical part of the bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first part contains the results of a survey of pupils in grades 5, 7 and 9, including answers to which schools the pupils apply to, how long and how exactly they prepare for the mathematics entrance examination. The second part of the practical part deals with the results of scores obtained by grade 9 pupils in three different sample entrance examination tests written from scratch by the thesis author. This part compares the scores obtained in each of the sample tests and investigates what types of problems pupils find difficult and what types of problems pupils are good at.
Advantages of the Czech Republic's Membership in the European Union
The bachelor thesis "Advantages of the Czech Republic's Membership in the European Union" deals with the issue of analysing the attitudes of Czech residents towards the European Union and the euro. The aim of the thesis is to find out the attitudes, analysis and evaluation. The thesis is devoted to the history of the founding of the European Union, its policies, pillars and institutions, the membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union and the euro currency. The thesis deals with the research question: The majority of Czechs do not agree with the adoption of the euro, but at the same time want to remain a member of the European Union. A quantitative questionnaire survey method is used to develop the research. The collected data are then evaluated using basic statistics and graphically presented. The conclusion of the work is the creation of a comprehensive overview of the attitudes of the population of the Czech Republic and an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of membership in the European Union.
Řízení kvality jako nástroj pro zajištění konkurenceschopnosti poskytovatelů služeb v cestovním ruchu
This dissertation deals with the issue of increasing the quality of services provided in the field of tourism. It is especially focused on the Czech Service Quality System (CSQS), which represents such a quality management tool in the market environment of the Czech Republic. This system has been operating as a quality management tool for ensuring competitiveness in the conditions of the Czech Republic since 2010. After a 10year period, it is therefore appropriate to verify and evaluate its current use in practice. The main goal of the work is to analyse the current level of implementation of this tool and its practical use. The research verifies the use of the Czech system of service quality both among the managers of selected tourism organization certified in the system and from the point of view of consumers themselves. Partial goals of the work are the detailed description of the Czech Service Quality System, including the reasons that led to the implementation of this system, the description of its operation, including a detailed procedure in various stages of certification, but also a comparison with analogous systems operating in Germany (ServiceQualität Deutschland) and in Switzerland (Quality Programme of Swiss Tourism). In the light of the findings, there will be an overall assessment of the degree of adaptation of the system and its success from the perspective of all stakeholders in tourism, as well as proposing possible recommendations to support and expand its practical use.
Media image of the Czech European Union membership referendum

The diploma thesis entitled Media Image of the Referendum on the Accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union, is devoted to the point of view of three Czech newspapers on the historically first referendum held in the Czech Republic, which took place on June the 13th and 14th of 2003. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the newspapers Mladá fronta DNES, Lidové noviny and Právo reported on the referendum of Czechia's accession to the European Union. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part places the events in the political development of the Czech Republic, describes the context of the integration process, presents the referendum on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union and the eastern expansion of the European Union by ten member states. Based on theoretical starting points through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses the analytical part monitors which topics were associated with the referendum about the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union, which position the examined newspapers held towards the vote, and which arguments were for and against the membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union media stated. The results of the analysis are presented in the final part of the thesis.
Regional identity: The Role of the Czech Republic and Poland in maintaining Sorbian identity
This master thesis focuses on the Sorbs, a small Slavic minority living in Lusatia, Germany. The Sorbs are only 60 000, and their identity is currently threatened. This research aims at knowing to what extent the Czech Republic and Poland, as Slavic neighbours, can help the Sorbs maintain their identity. 6 semi-structured interviews were conducted with Sorbian, Czech, and Polish people. Several topics were addressed: the Sorbian identity, the personal experiences with the Czech Republic and Poland, the Sorbian-Czech and Sorbian-Polish relations as well as the Sorbs' relations with Germany. The results show that Sorbian identity is highly threatened and provide a state of play of the current Sorbian-Czech and Sorbian-Polish relations. Finally, the role that the Czech Republic and Poland could have in maintaining Sorbian identity in the coming years was discussed.

The topic of the thesis is young people's relationship with politics in the Czech Republic. The first part deals with interest in politics and participation in elections among young people and compares them with general public. Furthermore, it focuses on involvement of youth in various organisations and their participation in public life. Besides, the thesis tries to find reasons for lack of interest in politics and characterise some causes related to theirs attitudes towards politics. Finally, it deals with political preferences of young people and their engagement in political organisations. The last part of the thesis summarises results of the research findings which took place among social studies students at The Faculty of Education. The research focused on attitudes and participation of youth in politics.

The thesis deals with the development trends of democratic systems in post-communist countries, specifically in the Czech Republic and Poland. It examines how democratic systems were established in those countries and what the changeover to democracy was like. It describes the key events that led to the fall of communist regimes in those countries. The emphasis is put on opposition forces. Then it tries to describe the development trends of democratic systems in the 1990s, especially from the point of view of the party system and parliamentary elections. The thesis deals with political parties and political developments after individual parliamentary elections. The work also surveys the current political situation in the Czech Republic and Poland. The work tries to answer the question, how both states developed from a democratic point of view and the key point is also a comparison of both states.
