Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion

The dissertation project Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion deals with the situation of Roma in Czech rural municipalities. The starting motivation for the author's exploration of this topic has been information about the growing number of segregated localities in rural areas. In the local public discourses within the peripheral areas, this phenomenon has often been explained as the consequence of poverty-driven urban-rural migration. However, as the migration of socially excluded populations into disadvantaged areas stirs a lot of fears and negative emotions that provide a fertile ground for the spread of rumours, the author's preparatory research soon revealed that it is necessary to carefully distinguish between myths and reality. The author's desire to understand the complex processes behind the emergence of new Roma localities in rural areas required a combination of working methods: The author analysed the national policy and regulatory framework and realized empirical research in five micro-regions in different parts of the Czech Republic. Economic inequalities in EU: capital flows between the core and the periphery

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the economic inequalities in the European Union between 1999 and 2018, with the aim to analyze the impact of capital flows resulting from dividends and remittances paid out on the development of spatial disparities between national states. The first part of the thesis attempts to anchor the theme into the concept of the World system by I. Wallerstein with an overlap into the historical context, which formed the basis for today's polarization of Europe. The following is a brief description of the pros and cons of inequalities with the presentation of the European Union's efforts to address this problem. In the methodological part there are described the tools for the study of variability and capital flows. The empirical study applies methodological approaches to the specific data of gross domestic product and gross disposable income coming mainly from Eurostat. This thesis describes the origins and developement of The European union. The caracteristics of its organizational structure are discussed as well, followed by a summary of the developement of the structural policy of the EU and its effects on regions within EU member states. A description of how the structural policy of Czech Republic developed, both before and after admission to the EU, will conclude the theoretical portion of this thesis. Empirical section of the thesis focuses on the Pavlov Archeological Park project, which was predominantly financed through The European Fund of Regional Development.

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to characterize cohesion policies of the European Union and the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, the history of the European Union is described along with its primary information, and also the history of cohesion policy development. It also describes regional policies of the Czech Republic, its preparations to be part of the EU and also the following participation on three operational programs. Practical part includes the realization of the project Centrální dopravní terminál a Parkoviště P+R, which is confounded by the European Union.
Cross-border cooperation in the Czech - Bavarian border area on the concrete example of the Šumava National Park/Bavarian Forest

The subject of the final thesis is to introduce Czech and German cooperation, especially between regions Bavaria and South Bohemia. The unions and organizations that support this cooperation are also introduced there. The thesis deals with legal normatives, which regulate this interaction. The next chapter is a summary of all euroregions in Czech and German borders. Important part of thesis is the chapter about Euroregion Šumava Bavarian forest Mühlviertel, where is solved Czech-Bavaria part of region, mainly. No less important chapter deals with partnership and financing of National park Šumava and Bavarian forest. The thesis presents concrete projects of this cooperation as well. Common plans and aims by 2020 are mentioned there. The final chapter provides an overview of development of projects focus as well as future progression of these two national parks, through Pavel Bečka, coordinator of Czech-German cooperation in National park Šumava.

Rigorous thesis "Jednotný programový dokument pro Cíl 3 regionu NUTS 2 hlavní město Praha. Implementační schéma programu JPD 3 a jeho vliv na příjemce finanční dotace" deals with the programmes co-financed from the Structural funds of the European Union in the Czech Republic, particularly with the Single Programming Document "Jednotný programový document pro Cíl 3 regionu NUTS 2 hlavní město Praha (JPD 3)" The main objective of this study was to prove whether there is cohesion between the administrativě obligations of the implementation authorities of the JPD 3 programme on one hand and the beneficiaries of the ftnancial support on the other, and how the rules of the JPD 3 programme influence beneficiaries while implementing concrete projects. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate whether the implementation authorities were sufficiently prepared for the launch of the JPD 3 programme, whether the JPD 3 programme rules háve any impact on the implementation of projects by the beneficiaries, and if so, whether this impact is a positive or a negative one. The evaluation of the use of EU structural funds in the Central Bohemia Region in the period 2007 - 2013

My bachelor work deals with the evaluation of the use of EU structural funds in the Central Bohemia Region within the Regional Operational Program in Cohesion Region of Central Bohemia in the period 2007 - 2013. The description of the strategy and objectives of the program, the characteristics of the individual priority axes and areas of intervention during the subsidy system are given in the theoretical part. The practical part deals with the development of the use of structural funds in the Central Bohemia Region, where overall results achieved within the Regional Operational Program in Cohesion Region of Central Bohemia both from financial and technical point of view are evaluated. An analysis of the fulfillment of monitoring indicators at the level of priority axes and comparing actual results with expected targets in the program documents follows. In the final part an actual effects and impacts of program implementation on the population of the entire region of Central Bohemia are analyzed. The results of the Regional Operational Program in Cohesion Region of Central Bohemia and the comparison with other operational programs in the programming period 2007 - 2013 are given. There is also the evaluation of one of the failed projects and one of the most successful applicants on the contrary. The examples of completed projects are given.
Development of municipalities and rural areas in the context of EU funds

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the problem of structural funds in the EU from the point of view of development in municipalities and rural areas. The thesis looks into European Regional Development Fund and European Agricultural Fund For Rural Development and it follows up with operational programs (Rural development IROP, INTERREG), which are from these funds financed the most, and also concerning its priorities. There is also mentioned current socio-economic situation of municipalities in Moravian-Silesian region. The second part of this thesis is focused on possibilities of development of selected municipality in the border area. It evaluates its current situation from the perspective of using EU funds. In the end it was elaborated a case study focusing on the development of tourism in the village and in its surroundings, which would correspond to the strategic development of the municipality and at the same time it gives a method for drawing up the project plan that could be used in the future.
