Volunteering in para-athletics

Title: Volunteering in para athletics. Aims: The aim of this master thesis is research and insight into the problems within gaining volunteers in para-sport and further evaluate the volunteers motivation in attending the athletics contests. Methods: The qualitative research used for the examination is based on descriptive analyses. Two surveys and one interview were used for the enquiry of this volunteer phenomenon. To bring up the full picture of the volunteering phenomenon were chosen respondents who are representing three participating groups. First, individuals with volunteering experience, next students of Physical Education in practice and sport for people with specific needs, coordinators of athletes competitions and last para athletes. The research enquiry was based on original self structured surveys and interviews. Surveys were distributed via the electronic program Survio. The interviews were sent by email as a word file enclosure. Results: Results of this pilot research showed the meaning of volunteering in prarasport. The results of surveys for volunteers introduced some important points of motivation. Job opportunities of people with mild mental disabilities

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of employment of people with mild mental disabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis first describes a person with a mild mental disability. It defines this disability, defines the basic etiology and symptomatology. It also describes the specifics of these people in relation to work. It also introduces the employment opportunities of people with mild mental disabilities, defines the basic legislation or job training. Last but not least, it presents specific job opportunities in the region Orlickoústecko. The practically oriented part of the diploma thesis describes the possibilities and specifics of employing several people with mild mental disabilities from a selected region of the Pardubice region. This part of the thesis describes the benefits or obstacles to employment, as well as the level of awareness in the process of obtaining employment and the view of employers on this issue. From a methodological point of view, a qualitative method of interview was used, which was conducted with individual employees, their key employees and their employers. The used research methods are mainly analytical and empirical methods. The master's thesis starts with the legislative regulation of the prohibition of discrimination based on disability in the field of employment relationships on the international law level, where the Convention is crucial, and continues toward the level of EU and national law. Skiing as a leisuretime activity for people with disabilities

The final bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of skiing as a leasuretime aktivity for people with disabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the possibilities and ways of skiing for people with disabilities, the most common disabilities in connection with skiing, teaching methodology, the work of a ski assistant or instructor, the impact of sport on health condition and socialization of person. The practical part of the thesis contains research in the field of skiing for poeple with disabilities. The main aim of the research was to find out information, knowledge, skills and attitude of ski instructors to teach people with disabilities. As follows from the text, the respondents of the questionnaire survey, which was carried out using quantitative method, were ski instructors operating in the Czech republic and abroad. Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities The thesis deals with the current development of human rights of persons with disabilities from the perspective of constitutional law. The work first maps the historical changes of the legal status of persons with disabilities - from antiquity to the tragic experience of denying human dignity in the first half of the 20th century. Furthermore, the thesis shows the development of the human rights of persons with disabilities in the second half of the 20th century. A key driver of this process is the value of human dignity, which, following the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, has become the main starting point for the protection of human rights (not only) persons with disabilities. The changes in the concept of human rights of people with disabilities are related to the shift from the medical to the social concept of disability, on the basis of which the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) was adopted in 2006. This convention embodies a new approach to human rights of persons with disabilities, who should no longer be subject only to charity and social security regulations, but above all they should be recognized as they are - as an equal legal subjects and full members of the society. People with disabilities entering university

This bachelor thesis focuses on people with disabilities entering university at a specific stage of the life cycle. This particular stage of the life cycle is called emerging adulthood and includes the age range from 18 to 25. These young adults are experiencing an important milestone in their lives. In this case, this life milestone is entering university. This group of people has to deal not only with their disability but also with the pressure associated with this life stage. This the pressure is mainly from their family and college, but also from the whole society. The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to find out the conditions of people with sensory and physical disabilities at Charles University when they are entering the university and during their subsequent studies at this university. I tried to map the stage of emerging adulthood in these people and reveal some common features. The other goal was to reveal the most common obstacles that these students may encounter on their journey to obtain a university degree.
