Egypt's position in contemporary international relations

This paper analyzes contemporary foreign relations of Egypt. In the first part of the thesis theoretical basis of the Tahrir revolution is discussed. The second part analyzes the impact of this event on the foreign policy position of Egypt in international relations on the example of relations with the United States, the European Union, including a separate analysis of the Egyptian-Czech relations, and the countries of the Gulf and the Middle East. Although two groups of actors changed representing the ruling elite - the military, the Islamists and the army again, both of them eventually apply the same approaches in the context of the foreign policy. This approach is characterized by particularly strong ties to the country's traditional partners, especially the U.S. and the rich Gulf states.
Compatriot activities in New York as a part of the Czech public diplomacy

The present thesis deals with activities of the Czech diaspora in New York, which constitute an important part of the public diplomacy of the Czech Republic. For a better understanding of this issue, the introduction explains the concept of public diplomacy and the current position of compatriots in public diplomacy. The thesis also analyses cooperation between the Czech Republic and its compatriots and mentions not only positive aspects of cooperation, but also problems and complications. In the United States of America there are approximately 1.8 million people who claim Czech nationality. It is the largest Czech community in the world and that is the reason why relations with compatriots in New York represent an important part of the thesis. New York is one of the traditional Czech community residences; there is a building of the Czech nation, The Bohemian National Hall, which is characterized by activities presenting the Czech Republic and its culture. Apart from the current situation the thesis also outlines the future development of cooperation between Czech compatriots in New York and the Czech Republic.
The impact of the Kurdish problem on Turkey's foreign policy

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of the Kurdish problem on Turkey's foreign policy . Thesis is for better understanding divided into four chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to explain the key terms which are important for the understanding of the topic . The second chapter focuses on the Kurds as a nation and describing the history of the Kurdish people . The third chapter introduces Turkey and its foreign policy and it is also targeted on the impact of the Kurdish issue on the integration. In the fourth chapter, there are offered the possibilitis how can be the Kurdish issue solved.
The Role of Public Diplomacy in Norwegian Foreign Policy – Current Aspects

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the role of public diplomacy in the Norwegian foreign policy, and also to answer the research question of how Norway, from the position of a small country, wishes to be perceived by the international community. The first chapter defines the basic concept of a small state and characterizes the common features of the foreign policy of such states. Thereto, it focuses on public diplomacy which is an important foreign policy tool. The second chapter applies the knowledge gained from the first chapter and presents it in the context of the Norwegian perspective. Based on the cultural and historical context, this chapter analyses Norwegian foreign policy and explains why the public diplomacy represents its important tool. Moreover, the thesis engages in the strategy of the Norwegian public diplomacy and its four aspects of presenting Norway abroad. The third chapter focuses on a specific aspect, namely the presentation of Norway as a humanitarian superpower, analysing its humanitarian policy and illustrating its involvement in this issue with the example of two humanitarian missions.
South Korea's Foreign Policy towards DPRK in the 21th century

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the main factors that influence the foreign policy of the Republic of Korea towards DPRK in the 21th century. In order to achieve this objective, the development of South Korea's foreign policy towards the North is analyzed since the end of the Cold War to the present. The internal and external factors, through which the foreign policy of the ROK is influenced, are also examined.
Analysis of the Czech Foreign Trade before and after Entering the European Union

The purpose of this thesis is to describe development of Czech international trade and compare countries in order to define what countries are the most important for Czech international trade. The structure of the trade is examined in order to investigate which commodities are exported and imported. The commodity structure of individual countries is analyzed, so that the differences in commodity structure could be demonstrated. The other main purpose is to describe international trade in services and to demonstrate Czech trade with services. The thesis also describes Czech foreign and trade policy since year 1918 till nowadays and pinpoints the most important economic and political milestones in our history. The last goal of this thesis is to analyze Czech export policy and state-owned or commercial companies which helps Czech exporters.
Foreign and Trade policies of the USA during Barack Obama´s presidency

Main goal of thesis is to evaluate foreign and trade policies of the United States of America during Barack Obama's presidency, using both analysis and comparison methods and to answer the question: At which key areas should U. S. foreign and trade policies aim in the future? Thesis focuses on foreign policy and its military dimension, on trade policy with particular preference programs and their meaning for the USA, multilateral trade system and last but no least on think tanks, lobbing and their influence on mentioned policies. Also whole chapter is dedicated to Transatlantic Relations.
Factors influencing individuals as international relations actors

This bachelor thesis deals with factors influencing individual's decision-making in the international field. These factors are divided into two sections - inner and exogenous, and are described and analysed. Emphasis is put on those entities, which play a key part when describing the foreign policy of Mr Vaclav Havel, the president of the Czech Republic and a respected figure abroad. Specific factors having influence on Vaclav Havel are stated in the empiric part of the thesis. All of these are linked to president's acts on the international stage.
Small states in international relations: a comparison of the foreign policy of Switzerland and Denmark

Although especially the big countries and great powers attracted the attention of other states in the past, it is not entirely considered to be so today. Small states are playing an increasingly important role in the field of international relations and attract increasing attention of larger states, international organizations, politicians and researchers in the area of international relations. Bachelor thesis describes the definition and behavior of small states, focusing on their foreign policy. At the example of two small countries - Switzerland and Denmark - it compares their basic foreign policy goals and foreign policy tools. These tools are diplomacy, economic means, neutrality and security policy.
The comparisson of the foreign policy of Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice in the field of the International Criminal Tribunals

This thesis compares the foreign policy of Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice in the field of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda. The first chapter describes and compares the situations that led to the creation of the tribunals and their foundation. The second chapter characterizes and compares the foreign policy of the United States at the turn of 20th and 21st century in these regions. The third and fourth chapter compare the approach of both foreign ministers on the issue, primarily based on personal and political interests. Both chapters include the position of the administration in which the two women acted and their attitude and activities towards the tribunals. The aim is to compare coherently the approach of both ministers towards the tribunals during various administrations and US interests.
