Viscometer adjustment for materials of higher viscosity
Laryš, Šimon ; Jankovský, Jaroslav (referee) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor‘s thesis is to rebuild and verify the functionality of an old SHEEN CP1 viscometer for measuring soldering and thick-film pastes according to the design from the semester project. The theoretical part presents the basic viscosity calculations for newtonian and non-newtonian substances. The basic methods of viscosity measurement for different types of substances are also explained here. The greatest emphasis is placed on devices that can measure thixotropic substances. The practical part presents a design for a method which reduces the speed of the viscometer and a design for the interconnection of individual components from the semester project and its assembly. Following part contains description of the modules and sensors used and the program part with libraries where functions for individual peripherals were created and explained. The connection of individual components is also explained here. Finally, the functionality of the modified viscometer is verified by measuring the soldering and thick-film paste.
Construction of a brake mechanism
Laštůvka, Martin ; Galas, Radovan (referee) ; Frýza, Josef (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis describes design of brake and arrestment mechanism for high pressure viscometer which is placed in the laboratory of the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design FME BUT. The Brake mechanism is able to brake torque of 50 Nm and the arrestment mechanism allows to stop the shaft at precisely defined angles. When designing the device is used current the state of knowledge.
Uncertainties of measurements of the dynamic viscosity
Januš, Petr ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
The thesis is deal with measuring the temperature dependence of dynamic viscosity and the calculation of measurement uncertainties. The thesis writes up the physical nature of viscosity and rheological properties. Next it is write up an overview of possible methods for measuring viscosity of liquids and overview of methods for measuring the density of liquids. An important chapter is the statistical evaluation of measured data represented mainly measurement uncertainties. In the practical part of the work is done workplace for measure the temperature dependence of dynamic viscosity. It is used two methods of measuring viscosity of liquids and two samples of liquids. Finally is done statistical evaluations of measurement. Based on the calculated measurement uncertainty measurement methods are compared.
Determination of the viscosity of various types of wastewater
Glombová, Pavla ; Rusník,, Igor (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is a description of viscosity as a physical characteristic of liquids, next a description of projecting different types of sewer systems (pressure sewer system, vacuum sewer system and gravity sewer system). There was a range of density and viscosity of wastewater experimentally determined. These values were compared with ordinary values used in practice. The practical part of this work consists of sampling wastewater from different types of sewer systems and various localities. Chemical-biological analysis was realized on those samples with defined density, then dynamic viscosity was measured by the rotary viscometer for various temperatures. Measured data are evaluated. Finally, a calculation related to the design of sewers was made.
Study of alternative electroinsulating liquids properties
Bannert, Tomáš ; Hylský, Josef (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is dealing with the study of alternative electrical insulating properties of the materials used in the electronics industry, particularly liquids based on natural esters and especially their constituents in the form of higher fatty acids and esters. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the characterization of vegetable oils, their constituents and mineral oils, their comparison in terms of electrical and non-electrical properties and current state of the use of vegetable oils and their constituents in the electronics industry. Further it’s dealing with analysis of diagnostic methods for these characteristics. In the experimental part were analyzed electrical and non-electrical properties of selected samples of vegetable oils, their constituents and mineral oils such as the density, the dynamic viscosity and the complex permittivity and its parts as relative permittivity and loss number. Evaluations of the results of each group are compared with each other.
Viscosity study of liquid materials
Januš, Petr ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the study of viscosity of liquid materials. Its aim is to study the mathematical and physical fundamentals of dynamic viscosity. The thesis presents a correlation between conductivity and viscosity of liquid insulators called Walden rule. Further part of work is a review of methods for measuring viscosity of liquids and classification of insulating liquids. The last section is the practical part in which it is verified Walden rule for available insulating liquids.
Analysis of operating fluids properties
Chrobák, Jan ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on introducing the mathematical and physical fundamentals of viskosity, density and refractive index of liquids and methods of its measurement. Based on available literatures specify review of areas in which the measurement of dynamic viscosity is used for evaluation the actual state of liquid materials. Discuss the possibility of using for example variables to determine the concentration of fat in milk and ethanol in alcoholic beverages. The sample of liquid to realize the practical measurements.

Metody měření viskozity kysaných mléčných výrobků
Šebela, Roman
This bachelor thesis deals with the measurement of viscosity of fermented dairy products. The first part of this thesis describes viscosity, viscosity measurement methods, individual viscometers and their distribution according to the measurement principle. Another part of the literary review deals with milk and fermented milk products. It describes milk composition, milk processing for production of dairy products, characteristics of fermented milk products, their production, rheological properties and possibilities of use. In the practical part are described individual samples – white yoghurt, sour cream, sour milk, acidophilic milk and kefir milk. The results of the measurement of the viscosity of fermented milk products, which were carried out on a rotational viscometer at 5-25 °C, are summarized here. The results include comparison of individual samples and decrease of temperature viscosity values.
