The Transformation of the Sports Journalist's Job and the Operation of the Sports Newsrooms. The case of the World Ice Hockey Championships

This diploma thesis deals with the transformation of the sports journalists work during the World Hockey Championships over last thirty years. The aim of this thesis is to summarise the changes that journalists have adapted to and describe the greatest effect of them. The theoretical part contains the definitions of basic concepts and classifies the influences which, according to the reference literature, significantly affected the journalists' work. These includes mainly digitization, convergence, the inception of the Internet and social networks. The methodological part includes the qualitative and phenomenological research, which is the analytical part based on. The analytical part presents experiences which are gained from the interviews with the sports journalists. The research confirmed the assumptions designed in the theoretical part. Some of them are found to be significant while the others are considered as commonplace.
Mediatization as a consequence of self-presentation on social networks: publishing norms and their influence on Instagram users

Diploma thesis Mediatization as a consequence of self-presentation on social networks: publishing norms and their influence on Instagram users explores how Instagram and its affordances are able to change the behavior of its users, focusing on the aspect of photo sharing and related publishing norms. The aim of this work is to find out the practices which users do with photos and because of them before sharing them on Instagram, but above all it is about deeper understanding of the detected behavior and exploring whether and how such behavior interferes with users' lives. Within the theoretical part, the reader is acquainted with the development of the image, the origin of photography, its manipulations and changes in the digital era. Furthermore, the thesis presents visual social networks, the principles of Instagram operation and findings from current studies on the topic of self-presentation on social networks. In the last part, I deal specifically with Instagram photography, its types, methods of editing and sharing, based mainly on two current studies on this topic, the authors of which are Lev Manovich and Elisa Serafinelli. The second half of the thesis presents the research methodology, its design, results and final summary.
Algorithmization of social networking sites and its perception by adolescents

The diploma thesis Algorithmization of social networks and its perception by adolescents deals with the issue of algorithms which lead to personalization of social networks. Their perception by children and adolescents is currently not sufficiently explored. In the theoretical part, I demonstrate how the current studies examine the perception of algorithms on a sample of the entire population, in the context of adolescents how they focus on social networks as a whole. Therefore, the ambition of this thesis is to research the intersection of these three spheres and its impact on adolescent's perception of algorithmisation of social networks. Through qualitative research using the method of semi-structured interviews, this thesis outlines trends that may prevail in this area. An analytical synthesis of knowledge also answers the questions of how adolescents are informed about the possibilities of influencing the selection and sorting of the content and whether they show interest in these possibilities. Title: Marketing communication of the non-profit organization Czech ski school of amputees Objectives: The main goal of the diploma thesis is to create a proposal to innovation marketing communication of a non-profit organization Czech ski school of amputees z.ú. First it is necessary to find out the current state of communication of this organization. Afterwards, how does the founder perceive the current communication situation and how it is perceived by the founder of the organization, its clients and an independent expert on marketing communication. Then, according to the findings, propose recommendations for their innovation. Methods: The work uses the method of qualitative research using the literature. Presentation of Czech Television journalists on social networks with the regard to provision determining the rules and manner of their appearance

The aim of this diploma thesis was to present in detail the document made by the director of News and Sport division of Czech Television Zdeněk Šámal entitled Decaloque for the Work od Czech Television Journalists on Social Networks. This document recommends Czech Television journalists how to communicate on their personal profiles on social networks. In this context, the thesis also includes a relatively wide research, which introduces to readers, whether there are some similar documents published in other european public service media. An important question in this issue was a journalists autonomy and the freedom of speech, which could theoretically be by this type of document threatened. For a compehensive approach to the whole issue, there is also a practical part of this thesis, which inludes interviews with Czech Television journalists, which helps to introduce readers also a subjective view, both of the Decaloque and freedom of speech. iReporters of Czech televisiion - shoot videos and become a star

The dissertation analyzes the iReporter project, which allows viewers to become involved in Czech Television broadcasting. The dissertation is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with participatory (citizen) journalism, both abroad and in the Czech Republic. I attempt to outline the history and present of public involvement in the production of news, with a focus on TV- related participatory journalism and Czech Television in particular. The dissertation describes the way in which viewers became increasingly involved in TV broadcasting over time, be it in movies, TV series, entertainment programs or news reporting. I also explain how television began to utilize new media, mobile journalism and social networks, all of which brought it much closer to its viewers. The theoretical study is followed by a practical part focused on the iReporter project. For example, it provides information about the people in charge of the project, the number of participating contributors, the process a video takes to get on the screen, the regions with the most active iReporters and the programs/shows which use their videos the most. Twitter as a source of Czech printed newspapers and internet news portal

This diploma thesis deals with the social network Twitter as a journalistic source for printed dailies and Internet news portals in the Czech media environment. The work consists of two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part first briefly introduces the general influence of social networks on the form of the journalistic profession today, then attention is focused specifically on the social network Twitter and its relationship with journalists and media organizations. At the end of the theoretical part, knowledge from the use of the digital platform Twitter as a journalistic source and how this fact affects journalistic routines and procedures is analyzed, also with the ability of Twitter to strengthen the role of certain types of sources and contributes to the personalization of the media and political environment. The practical part of this work will deal with how this procedure in the use of Twitter as a source differs between traditional printed dailies and Internet news portals.
The Use of Twitter by the Czech News Agency and Reuters

This Bachelor's Thesis focuses on news agencies, organizations that collect, process and provide intelligence information on domestic and foreign events to its clients (such as media), and their relationship with social media. This work aims to find out how the Czech News Agency (ČTK), the largest wire service in the Czech Republic, uses Twitter to disseminate its news outputs published on the České noviny website. This is achieved, among others, by comparison with Reuters, one of the largest and one of the world's oldest news agencies. The thesis consists of the theoretical section that provides information on Twitter and its influence on news media and journalism, describes specifics of news agencies, as well as their functioning in digital times, and the research section, which is further divided into quantitative and qualitative. Using the R programming language, the quantitative research analyses tweets of ČTK news account in selected days in comparison to Reuters' posts from the same period and general recommendations for using Twitter. Title: Marketing recruitment campaign of new members to the club TJ Vodní Stavby Praha - Zelený pruh Objectives: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the analysis of previous recruitment campaigns and the creation of a new comprehensive marketing promotion for the club of rhythmic gymnastics TJ Vodní Stavby Praha - Zelený pruh with the intention of increasing the membership base and awareness of the club. Methods: The bachelor thesis is based on the analysis of secondary data associated with the researched club (number of members, evaluation of flyers from past years, club social networks and website). Next part was quantitative method of personal interviewing of parents of participating children in order to find out the feedback of resources used to promote recruitment. and comparison of recruitment strategies of other local clubs. Results: After analysing the secondary data of the club, it was found out how many members had been added after each recruitment and what the recruitment contributions looked like. Furthermore, the number of website visits for the month of September since 2015 was examined and subsequently compared.
