Hydrodynamic Behavior of Large Bubbles inSlot Channels.
Ezeji, Kingsley
We present the results of experimental investigation on the dy-namics of air bubbles rising in stagnant or co-flowing liquid insidean inclined rectangular channel. Variable channel geometry (withadjustable height𝐻, perimeter𝑃 = 2(𝐻 + 𝑊), inclination𝛼, and orien-tation – flat𝐻 < 𝑊or tall𝐻 > 𝑊) enabled us to evaluate the influenceof different operation parameters on the bubble shape and velocity. Measurements of the rise velocity of large Taylor bubbles (𝑈TB) werecarried out by using a high-speed video camera system and an imageprocessing technique.
